Valentino Rossi Stars in MotoGP 19’s First Gameplay Trailer

We’re only five weeks away from the launch of the 2019 version of the official MotoGP game, and developer Milestone has treated us to a first gameplay video.

The clip of MotoGP 19 features the riders going head-to-head in a race at Italy’s Mugello Circuit, in Tuscany. It features a full grid of 22 bikes, with just under a lap and a half of knee-down action. Naturally, the player is using the former face of the MotoGP series games, Valentino Rossi.

MotoGP 19 will feature a career mode packed with races like this, but also some other novel challenges. If you don’t fancy tackling Rossi, Crutchlow, Lorenzo et al., you can start off lower down, in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

There’s a historic challenges section where you’ll get to ride with and against some of the best riders of years gone by. You’ll also experience the future as you can take part in the official MotoE championship for electric bikes — before the racers in the real world turn a wheel in anger.

Milestone promises a powerful helmet livery design editor with ‘endless possibilities’. That’ll be particularly useful in the multiplayer modes, which now feature dedicated servers.

MotoGP 19 will arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 6. Nintendo Switch users have a couple more weeks to wait, with a June 27 launch date. In the meantime you can watch the official gameplay video above.
