Was that Camaro in the US commercial created with those decals on it already or is that our window into letting us know that we can apply them ourselves, or is that old news, I can’t remember.

  2. j8mie

More awesomeness from KB. He’s down with TG5.

“Mr Butler is professional driver on a closed circuit. Do not attempt” lol

  3. Wallbreaker

Actually I don´t know which ons is better. I´m a huge fan of Kevin Butler, but the japanese commercial is also pretty cool, like the first one with toy cars, but now only better^^

    1. Jakemania

I didn’t realize that until now haha. You know, VP of add more awesomeness is actually about the most fitting title KB has had yet.

  4. TruenoGuy86

i just replayed kevin’s commercial like 10 times now and cant get enough of that laugh :p its wicked !! is he a really the one who pulled that little drift in the end ??

The people making Need for Speed shift2 just said that GT5’s graffics are bland….hahah then they said they are happy with 30fps. Gt5 runs so smooth at 60fps…I cant even play that glitchy 30fps crap anymore.

I don’t agree, but I do understand some peoples frustration with… such as the number of tracks and the car list. I get why some want a higher number of tracks – I get why some might be disapointed with the car list. I understand the frustration with the delay… I get it, don’t agree with it, but I get it…

What I don’t understand is the talk about the graphics! I really can’t understand it coming from the people that made Shift (though those graphics weren’t bad…), but not drooling over the visuals that PD, Sony and GT5 are bringing to us is a joke!

If there is one thing that people can’t take a swing at… it’s the freaking graphics GT5 has over anything and everything else…

OMG, the tree thing again. You people should be environmentalists. I will now refer to you as tree huggers, since TREES are so important to you.

PS3, 256 ram, GT5, highly detailed cars, lighting, smoke, skid marks, reflections, physics, weather, wind, damage, temperature, time of day, A.I., online, customization, and tracks…

The memory is spread out to buffer all these things at 60 fps. & u’re worried about trees. I’d rather spare detail on ambience then to do it on the track.

      Trees… ò_Õ?

Damn, this commercial is realistic i can’t even tell what’s real or not! Seems like PD crossed over the threshold.

It depends on how many preorders your local store has. I think EB Games has a certain number the game has to reach in order for them to think about doing a midnight release.

Another factor is the store’s location. My local neighborhood GameStop is in a conventional “Mall” setting and has to have typical “Mall Security” additionaly in order to have a midnight release. That and the fact that they only have 23 copies preordered means that I have 10am on the 24th as my earliest opportunity.

    1. Sparty McFly

I believe the reason he didn’t steal the Impala is because if he had screwed up during filming Jeff Gordon would be one pissed NASCAR driver.

Muahahahaha!! Kevin Butler is the Best =D
    Great TV Commercials!

5 days more… and the wait is FINALLY OVER!! =D

  8. yourmom

Anyone notice the sign behind the guy saying “midnight launch”? I didn’t think they were going to do one…

It depends on how many preorders your local store has. I think EB Games has a certain number the game has to reach in order for them to think about doing a midnight release.

I spoke with my local EB Games today and over the past few weeks they didn’t know for sure if they would actually do one, but today it sounded as if they were leaning towards doing it.

I would call your local store tomorrow, I guess they release their schedules on Friday which will tell them if they are staying open until midnight on Tuesday and if they are doing a midnight release.

Again, just depends on your local store and the demand for the game at that store…

    2. JB Motorsports

      * EB Games releases their schedules on Fridays for the following week to their associates. Obviously for games like Black Ops, which my local store had 1,600 preorders for, know well in advance that they will be doing a midnight release, but for GT5 the local store reps will know if they are doing a midnight launch once they see what their work schedule looks like.

Brought this quote from further down…

“Another factor is the store’s location. My local neighborhood GameStop is in a conventional “Mall” setting and has to have typical “Mall Security” additionaly in order to have a midnight release. That and the fact that they only have 23 copies preordered means that I have 10am on the 24th as my earliest opportunity.”

Finding a Game Stop that is “Free Standing” is key as well – I would agree! My local Game Stop, isn’t the biggest in the area and probably doesn’t pull the numbers that some of the other stores do that are also close, but because it’s free standing, they probably are a bit more flexable than stores that are in our malls.

It’s also a much better store… I love my local spot simply because of the relationship I have with everyone that works there. You always have to be nice to your Dr., the person that cuts your hair, anyone who handles your food…and your local Game Stop Manager!

Chords for those who want to play and sing with friends.

      Intro: C#maj E F#maj

      Chorus:
      C#maj E F#maj C#maj
We love cars, we love cars, la la la, la la

      C#maj E F#maj C#maj
We love cars, we love cars, la la la, la la

      Intro
      (Repeat)

  9. Schumito

    I love “We Love Cars”

It’s just awesome! Actually today I sent an email to my local sony distributor, asking him if I could buy the version before release daye. Guess his answer: Nope sorry, just on release date :(

  10. Hawar

I think the American one was better.

I hate those 1 second scenes from the Japanese one. I don’t think I saw a single car, just a blur of colours.

    1. Bernd

They were both beautiful, but I preferred the American version for a reason: “When they said, they needed the test-cars back, I said wahahahahaha”! Epic line :-D And I don’t like Murciélagos in baby-bathtub-blue, because it’s a crime!

  11. PaTrond

So hilarious! I wanted, I wanted, I wanted.. When they wanted?! Muhaha, nope.

Where can I get that “We Love Cars Sticker”?? Would be awesome to have on my locker door! =D

    1. PaTrond

Well, a bit strange to have it on the locker door, but it’s ok where I go. People know I’m not too serious about it too. =P

    1. AGNT009

Yeah, we’ll see how realistic that damage looks…..

Well played on the commercial, totally ignoring the fact they bumbled this game’s release.

    2. Kuba

AGN, you are aware that, no matter how big our site gets, we are still a small fragment of the gaming world’s Gran Turismo audience, don’t you? This delay went above a lot of people’s heads.

    3. BroncosXR8

      AGNT009

Oh of course there going to bring up the delay in their advertising, jeez they really missed the boat on that beautiful bit of advertising genious! You MUST work in advertising.

    4. - SZRT Ice -

That wouldn’t be wise. A commercial with an apology? Kaz already did that for the die-hard GT followers. What, u want him to suck your #$&%? Get over it. No other developer on Earth has ever even allowed the public to be so involved in a games development. The’d say “the game will be released when it’s ready” and in the back of their minds tell us to piss off. Kaz has handled this as respectfully and humbly as you could possibly expect from ANY developer. Reminder: He’s doing US a favor. He owes us NOTHING. At anytime, he could say, “To all of my fans, I thank you for being a part of the GT experience. It has been an amazing ride seeing how far GT has come, however through the development of this game, I have had many difficulties, strained relationships, & emotional stress, therefore GT5 will be my last Gran Turismo installment to the GT series.” I for one don’t want this, so I’d be inclined to watch my “harsh criticisms”, lest we make my hypothetical circumstance a reality…
