Nissan and GT Academy are making a big splash at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, with both Lucas Ordonez and Jann Mardenborough driving together in Greaves Motorsport’s LMP2 car. (We’ll have a post up tomorrow with links to all of the live coverage feeds you need to follow the race this weekend – stay tuned.)
They’re also hosting “NISMO FanZone”, a massive area for the public to see team drivers, enter to win helicopter tours, garage tours, and circuit tours of Circuit de la Sarthe, and experience the NISMO driver training labs and simulators.
Most importantly, for GT Academy 2013 hopefuls, the FanZone will host the first European GT Academy 2013 “Wild Card” competition. Similar to U.S. GT Academy’s “Racer X”, an eligible member of the public with the fastest lap at the event will score a direct ticket to the French GT Academy 2013 National Finals.
You can find the NISMO FanZone at Le Mans’ new karting area near the track. Good luck to all GTPlanet members participating in the competition!

Would love a your of the trainning labs and simulators. kick ass stuff.
Fantastic. To those there, I must say they are incredibly lucky and fortunate to be at the right place at the right time. I would do nearly anything to say that I raced, and won at Le Mans (even in the GTA “Wildcard”).
As much as I dig Nismo, gotta root for Mopar magic!
Is the wild card only available for legal French citizens or also for foreign people?
It wouldn’t exactly be fair if somebody from a different country could try to steal their spot in GT Academy Europe, would it? lol
Most important question: Will we be seen any new footage from GT6’s la Sarthe?
RACECAR
“Just thought of something guys: Remember the last time we saw anything new from GT6 prior to E3? It was the Nurburgring 24 Hours, where we got our first look at the Bilstein Audi R8 LMS. Now this week, we have the 24 Hours Of Le Mans and the last time we saw any GT related Gameplay, it was in 2010 showing off the Peugeot 908 and it was months away from release (like GT6 is at present).”
TetreRouge
“Gran Turismo has no involvement at Le Mans this year, all it’s advertising spots have actually been taken by Forza. Not sure if any car is carrying branding, but there should be a stand in the ‘village’ section of the paddock.”
hmmmm… :D
No “gran turismo” chicane? That section has gone unnamed for as long as I can remember until…
GT should never give it up.
FanZone or Friend Zone
FrandZone
Oh you don’t wanna be in the ‘friend zone’. May even have to employ a boyfriend destroyer….
Should have done a Le Mans seasonal too Kaz Yam 8/
