It’s safe to say that there’s a little bit of a love affair going on between Polyphony Digital and the Nissan GT-R.
The R32 Skyline variant of the GT-R is the only car that’s made its way into all main sequence Gran Turismo games. Or rather it will be, when the major content update for GT Sport drops. Polyphony designed the information screen for the real R35 model, with the car then featuring on the cover of GT5: Prologue. Nissan even chose that game’s demo to unveil the real car. And then there’s the myriad versions of the car available in Gran Turismo 4, 5 and 6…
So we’re not entirely surprised by this post from Twitter user “yuki_z12cube”. This Tweet suggests there’s a special edition of GT Sport coming, based around the NISMO version of the GT-R:

The information seems to come from a Nissan e-newsletter, sent to Japanese members who’ve signed up to the weekly emails. The snippet — according to our rough translation — claims that a GT Sport Special Edition will become available at a future date.
This Special Edition would seem to consist of three things. The first is a special “jacket” — which we’re taking to mean a different cover for the game case. There’s also a special wallpaper, we assume for the PS4 browser, and a download code for the Nissan GT-R NISMO. This last item could hint at paid DLC, but it may just be that the special edition gifts the car to the player so they don’t have to buy it in the game itself.
We’ve not yet been able to confirm any of these details. There’s also no information on any regional availability or launch date for this Special Edition, so watch this space…
