–Choose the Tracks for the series (including order.. duplicates should be allowed)
for each track, choose:
-Time of day/Time Progression including Weather/Weather Changeability/Surface water
-Laps
-Qualifying / Set Grid Manually / Random Grid
-Standing / Rolling start
-Penalty Level
next screen, choose:
–Your car
–Field size (2-16 cars)
–A.I. cars (choose individually, by PP or HP or Weight high and low limits, by Drivetrain, or by ‘class’- Touring Cars, SuperGT, Kei Cars, Sports Cars, Wagons, Supercars, Classics, LMP, Multiclass, etc… It would be ten times cooler if we could *create and save a Class- for example being able to choose from our garage AND the entire car list of gt5 to create a grouping of what you, personally, would call “Classic Sports Cars”. Save this class and it will be in the list until you decide to modify/delete it.)
–A.I. group or individual Tires (sometimes you just don’t want that Ford GT to run away from the pack by 2 miles. Seriously. That ish is boring. I’d rather hang out and battle the pack than chase the rabbit.)
–A.I. group or individual Difficulty (1-10 like arcade mode)
–Tire wear, Fuel depletion, Grip on wet/off track, Slow Car Boost, Slipstream on/weak, Visible/Mechanical damage off/light/heavy..
–Finally, you decide points awarded for each finishing position/ or use the pre-programmed formula. Creating and saving different Points Systems would be nice.
–Prizes will be selected by a program that factors the total difficulty after all options are set- hopefully not by PP alone, as we’ve seen the crap results from that method (generated opponents in arcade, anyone?). Tire selection and # of races + race length should play big roles in deciding prizes. How about helmets, suits, car tuning parts, rare paint chips, and car tickets of all levels?

PD has a different mind. The real truth is that the game is not for you. Not all people loves simulators even on PC and they still play other games like NFS Shi*t or others.
The game was not made for you and not even for me but i can like it or not as it is. And i like it but also i know that has some things wrong that i want to see better in the future.
Just think for 5 minutes which games are the ones that you are still playing after 1 and a half year of the actual release…;)

Honestly, who cares anymore? It’s nearing the end of April already, and North America still doesn’t even have the Japanese update for shared online photos… let alone any other special improvements.

Anyone else think the times allowed in the latest seasonals are far to easy to get a gold with unrestricted cars. Example being people using the chaparral 2J around the Nurb. I remember the early seasonals being much more restrictive with the entry requirements and limiting tyre selection. This made for far more rewarding racing which took time instead of doing one lap of each track. Getting gold and only playing for 15 minutes.
It’s up to you not to choose a maxed out car you doofus. This way the game caters for all; crank ’em up and max the power if you’re a lame racer, or turn the power down if you think you’re up for a challenge.
I think this event’s excellent and with the two Nurb’ seasonals available I’m happy as Larry :)

All of the top times were done with 2Js…. Screw that!! (whipped out 585pp Zonda R and cruised to 6:44.243)
In the real world wo uses crappy non grip tires for racing? Aren’t you suppose to use sticky tires to extract the best performance out of the car?
Depends on how many laps you want to do, for a five lap race racing softs are quickest but far from realistic in my opinion. Cars on sports hard let’s you feel how the car handles and how much mechanical grip it has rather than using tires that have super glue on the tyres. Comforts are maybe a bit too slippery but more fun than racing softs, imo. Racing softs let you drive like a moron and still make the corner.

@ TomBrady Try participating in a 11 race league series where even the host is using Racing softs 3 rounds traction control weak penalty (Ghost Overtaking) AND weak boost. I went with Race Hards no aids and pure setup and managed 3 podiums but no wins the host/league starter won 8 of 11. imagine that. Suffice it to say I probably wont be Participating in Summer series.
Yea Toko I totally agree! But why only 2 events? I’m no programmer so if it takes a long time to implement then that’s fine I am grateful for what we get. But if its not, how about 5 or 10 TT’s at 1 time, how about specific cars, manufacturer,era TT’s etc. If none of this can be achieved PLEASE bring back the 5 race seasonal. The Lambo race with the sun setting in Toscana was heaven! How about some more of that! And yea I dislike the way we have so many versions of Chamonix yet it is so rarely implemented into racing events. It looks fantastic and it’s lonely. Lets hug it by rallying the s**t out of it.! PD my faith in you is rising!
Yeah, I want the diversity back in the seasonals… and less B-Spec, which we’ll probably get next week. More seasonals is a better answer, though; it’ll give us more to do each week. An A-Spec pack with 50-200 events would be nice, or an Event generator/creator that Toko’s been requesting all this time. If an event generator/creator is added, we’d need a database for it, so we could easily share our creations. This would be good for the course generator, too.
This TT & DT was the best event PD has ever done. Was PD really listening to what we wanted? I don’t mean it as a bad thing, that’s actually good. :) If your reading this PD, thank you very much for making this seasonal. Are you able to make a Rally A-Spec seasonal featuring Toscana, Chamonix Main, and Côte d’Azur? with the PP being 550 or 600 with only modern and classic rally cars? Please and thank you? :D
They really need to do rally events. Ever since the introduction of seasonal events, I’ve been saying they should do rally, nascar, F1, and karting events. We’ve got all 3 except rally. We got a couple rally time trials but that’s it.
I hate that they have no interest in rally. Why put rally racing in your game and not use?
I hate the invisible walls as much as anybody, but I had the lack of rally events even more.
Not trying to badmouth GT5, it’s still the best racing sim ever in my opinon (best overall, not the most realistic, don’t twist my words), but rally is one thing I wish they would do more of. I also wish they would do a physics update to the rally physics that would literally be a total rip off of richard burns rally’s physics LOL
I think Rally is well supported, just no that much in the seasonals. We’ve got a decent amount of rally cars (and tracks) in the game, and have two Special events devoted to it. In fact, the premium rally cars (well, aside from one) have the highest damage model in the game. I think Drifting is the least supported element in the game; theres no instructions on how to do it in the License tests, (theres a few Rally License tests) there’s no special event devoted to it, and there isn’t even any real drift-themed content aside from the seasonals. There aren’t really any drift-themed cars, OR tracks… all of the tracks are some sort of circuit with the purpose of racing, not drifting.
Either way, most of the new or side features (Karing, NASCAR, Rally, Drifting, F1, etc.) don’t seem to be fully-fledged, or fully supported. I understand that PD didn’t have enough time to finish the game, but they seem to be updating and tweaking more of the strong points in the game, instead of trying to fix or update the issues or less supported features. I’m glad for ANY new content coming to GT5, bt it would seem that PD would be better off improving the weak points in the game, instead of strengthening the strong parts.

Listen, PD doesnt do rally races because its unplasible. Real rally us single driver time trials. Its just well, 16 cars on a dirt track is menecing, just one is sound. You want rally events, get friends together online and run times laps 1 at a time.
^ If you don’t like my idea then mind your business… l:\ If they ever did do a Rally seasonal event, and not TT & DT. You can simply not do it. DUH. Sure doing rally online is a good idea too but how much people does rally?
Man, it took me two hours just to figure out HOW to drift a race car… XD
I ended up using the Premium TOM’S Supra ’97 with comfort hard tires, minimum settings for Downforce and the LSD, and transmission set to 168 MPH. Great fun.
Can you not just use one of the D1 cars? :/

That was fun…. For about 10 minutes! LOL Not having a go but I went into A-Spec earlier because my taste for racing was rekindled and there really is not that much to choose from. Remember in GT3 even when the GT World Championship consisted of 10 races at 10/12/15 laps each I would love some more of that. I am long time player over 2200 races won, and I want just an excuse to use every single car in my garage (1100) in every race imaginable! Would it be hard to throw in a whole re-vamped A-SPEC with like 50-100 new events 500-1000 new races? Don’t need DLC or new Tracks I just want to race with the tracks and cars that we have.

Yeah i like the sound of that..50-100 Lev…and new A-Spec series …..bet its possible..we know the can implement any thing onto GT life home. .this is all you could expect from GT6…maybe premium + cars and premium tracks…in future D.L.C’s…nothing wrong with the platform we have now..no point building a complete new one…Evolution..we can rest assured P.D are still looking well into the future….
Seems easy enough; they’d just have to add a new tab in the A-Spec (and B-Spec if they made some) section that could only be selected if the DLC was purchased. PD should really try to put things that will breathe new life into the game, much like the Speed Test DLC did. Cars and tracks only serve as temporary enjoyment, additional features can last for ages.
They have to fix the problems before they revamp any a spec or bspec series.
But the fact is PD doesn’t care about the problems any more than the average person on the site. Everybody just wants to concentrate on new content instead of the content we already have working properly.
Please go ahead and tell me how this is all going to be fixed in GT6 and I should just quit complaining. The fact is I’m not talking about GT6 I’m talking about the game we already have! I just want my favorite game of all time to work properly, for the love of God!

As for the events, enjoyed these but it annoys me on pretty much every TT people use a detuned 2J race car which is always top of leaderboards, i prefer to use a car thats as close to the entry requirements as possible without having to use the power limiter. Wish PD would exclude this car from the TTs!

Agreed, especially since the GT5 rule is that every fictional track must include an unrealistic tunnel, like it’s a country road and not a permanent circuit. Seriously, I’d rather have the elevation change with walls like a real track.
It’s not that GT5 isnt worth updating with DLC.there is more content that still should be UNLOCKED.I said this before and I will say it again do you really think they put one car in the Acura dealer do you think they put one car in the Spoon dealer and in the Mines dealer.people are calling these things DLC no these are things that are already in the game just locked.we didn’t download the RX-7 touring car we downloaded the ability to unlock it.PD in the beginning had that car and the other TC cars already in the game and at first we would be able to get it by simply buying the RX-7 and taking it to get remodeled using GT credits and they changed it so that we have to pay real money to buy it seperate in the dealership already built as a TC car.I love GT I’m the type of person to turn off the music just so I could hear the engine I’m the type of person to not just race the same easy money race over and over just to get payed I don’t hate the game or PD as is I’m just calling a spade a spade.for the people who are gonna take shots and my comment screw you in advance thank you have a nice day :)
The way I thought it worked with the DLC is that the GT5 updates/maintenence are when the cars/tracks are imported into the game, it is then after that they are able to be ‘unlocked’ by the 100mb downloads which seems to be the ‘unlock code’ as it were.
The single 91 Acura and The Mines and Spoon Cars were always there from day 1.
They had to make the TC’s from scratch… some of the cars they made into TC’s were 2012’s so the game didn’t have them in the first place
i’m not sure your totally right about this…It didn’t take all that time to make this game for nothing..considering most of the content is from earlier in the series…and so far all dlc we have has tested every aspect of the game..cars ,tracks. items.. even home screen…with new applications ..and all the menus threw out the game are fully extendable..i’m sure PD are looking well into the future with this platform.
So they had 2012 GTR black editions in 2010? I’m pretty sure Nissan didn’t even introduce the Black Edition until early 2011
The DLC cars are added in the updates before the DLC is released on PSN; they weren’t in the game from the start.
We need more events like this one!

I agree with Toko. Though, I’d love to have GT5 supported until GT6, I just don’t see that happening. Hell I’ve practically already forgotten about GT5 and moved onto Forza 4.

@Pit Crew – “Aforementioned” ….and yes, I agree with you and Harvee. For the few yrs I played Forza 2 & 3 (waiting on GT5s release)…..I honestly couldn’t be bothered with anything Gran Turismo. I Just patiently waited for its release. Then in January 2011 I re-bought a PS3 with GT5 and a DFGT.
Was GT5 somewhat disappointing?…yes. Are there other games out there to fill the gap?….Perhaps (If you own a powerful enough PC). Are we the fans intolerant and ungrateful for expecting PD to add so much more content too GT5?… Perhaps…..or perhaps not or maybe.
@Harvee – Forza may not be the most hardcore SIM, (but neither is GT5 compared to what else is out there), but its far from arcade. I actually happen to think its a great game to help make the frequent GT hiatuses more tolerable , And if I didn’t know better, I’d think that PD owns T10, and have them intentionally release sub par games whenever they need a distraction, Like political spinning.

I went to do some drift trials to beat my friends scores the other day (that’s what its really all about) and when I went in driving options in my TVR Speed 12, I could use racing Softs… has this been changed to be like this or is it a glitch? Mind you I haven’t played GT in a while… so I may have missed an update

@jomama I’m not gonna critisize you for it, but I like it MUCH better when my friends actually try. It makes thing much more interesting. It’s like autolog in NFS shift, it gives you a reason to redo stuff. One of my friends will actually tell me when he beats my time, and then I’ll go beat his until he can’t beat mine anymore HAHA it’s great fun actually and I think you should try it instead of take the money and run
^ I LOVED the autolog feature in Hot Pursuit (for the same reasons as you)… but then NFS just started pissing me off. I agree; I like competing against people I actually know; I’ve got only two-and-a-half friends on PSN that I know, (the rest are all on Xbox) and they don’t play racing games that much… Even so, the other friends more apt towards racing games are always fun to compete against, and thats a big reason why I want more leaderboards in GT5 (with a “friends” tab), among others.
People need to Chill when it comes to DLC, PD will announce it when there ready and when they are people better not complain again.

Because only 280 cars have interiors.
We want tracks, not cars. The old tracks, not new ones.
And there’s too many duplicates, and a bunch of important or great cars missing… Mustangs and classic BMW’s are two examples.

49 non-racing Skylines/GT-R’s (I’m including the DLC TC’s, black edition, and N24hr version, and excluding the 60’s and 70’s variants)
21 RX-7’s/Efini RX-7’s (including DLC)
35 Miatas/Eunos Roadsters/MX-5’s (including DLC)
20 non-racing Honda/Acura NSX’s
8 Mitsubishi FTO’s
8 Mitsubishi GTO’s
12 Mitsubishi 3000GT’s
19 non-racing/rally Subaru Impreza’s (including TC DLC)
That’s around 150 – 160 unnecessary/duplicated cars. (^ The total was 172, but there are a few noticeably different cars, like the prototype NSX LM, the DLC cars, and the ’07 Mazda roadster).

The 600pp TT states No racing modded cars, Top 10 are all 2J’s

It’s an event for race cars – it’s called “600PP Race Cars” – but racing modified cars (the Premiums that can receive the race modification in GT Auto) are excluded. The Chaparral 2J is a race car and thus eligible.
The 2J is always the only car used for 600pp and above.

Yes, cant wait til PD get out of this horrid rut and stop releasing 5-10 seasonals every fortnight, 1 B-spec every 4 weeks, and only 3 A Specs instead of 5 in the A Spec seasonals AND its only once every 4 weeks!
F. my life, I’ve had my PS3 for 4 years and a half, and now it gives me the 3 beeps treatment with my GT5 game still trapped inside…
It’s not a overheat problem nor hdd…seems that I’ll have to pay ¥10,000+ to Sony so they’ll take 3 months to repair it!

This happened to me recently. I opened up my PS3 to get the disc out. It will void any warranty if you do this, and Sony will not take it for repair, but you will get your game back. I hear that what they repair may not be permanent, so it may just be time to buy a slim version!
I owned my PS3 for almost 6 years and it still works. I think I am lucky.

i paid about $80 US and i have everything back- game disk, all saved files, etc.. Been playing for 5 months on the reballed chip! (also I immediately backed up my HD on an external USB HD as soon as I got it back)
