In light of the recent news that console-goers will have to sit tight for just a little bit longer to experience the acclaimed racing title, development continues on both ends to improve the game. Earlier this month Kunos revealed plans to completely overhaul the game’s complete library of racing venues, courtesy of improved laser-scanning technology.
The improvements made to the technology have changed the methods Kunos used to approach texture and track modelling. Furthermore, because of the new approach they’re able to create a more immersive experience with accurate recreations of trackside objects, 3D trees, camera-facing objects, crowds, and additional secondary details.
Now, the first previews of an overhauled Autodromo Vallelunga Circuit have surfaced showcasing the improvements made to the 2016 version of the circuit in full swing. Other tracks currently in the process of being optimized include Nurburgring GP, Mugello, Magione, Imola, Silverstone, Monza, Spa Francorchamps, as well as the Nordschleife.
While a full list of everything shiny and new included in the upcoming 1.5 update have yet to make waves, we know that pit stop strategies and procedures are also going to be included in the update. Kunos already has a number of new features and content earmarked for this year, improving the experience on both platforms.
Update 1.5 is set to arrive sometime in March and will be available for Steam. Stay tuned to GTPlanet for the full reveal of everything included in 1.5, and be sure to stop by our Assetto Corsa sub-forum for more discussion and in-depth analysis.

I wonder if the Corvette C7 Stingray 2015 and Ford Mustang 2015 will be among the content for update 1.5. On a post in the AC website(under the “News” tab), it says they are “expected to be the first bonus content released in 2016.” So, it could very well be included in the update.
Also, yeah for 3D trees:) Looks great!
pretty sure it is already confirmed to be coming with 1.5
Just gets better and better
Sort of off topic but Vallelunga is a real hidden gem in sim racing. A fantastic variety of corners, each presenting a really unique challenge and requiring a somewhat different approach. From the incredibly fast esses just after the finish line to a hairpin that rivals Monaco for tightness this track is a real challenge from start to finish. I am sure console players are going to really enjoy it.
I should add that, as far as I know, Kunos is unique in that their home base is actually at a race track, Vallelunga to be specific.
Trying to hold flat out through Curva Grande (2nd turn) always makes me hold my breath in street cars. It is such a high speed right hander…
You are right those pics are stunning. But you wont see that level of res on the PS4 or XBONE
That level of detail is reserved for PC gamers. Although is suspect the consoles will come a bit closer but not equal the PC video detail.
If I open those pictures in high-res and place a fan right in front of me it feels like I’m riding along.
