It seems Turn 10 has quietly snuck Porsche’s mid-engine track weapon into Forza Motorsport 7.
The game came in for an update earlier today alongside the release of the new Doritos Car Pack. The patch notes mentioned plenty of small fixes here and there, suggesting Turn 10 didn’t plan on revealing the 911 RSR quite yet.
Nonetheless, players quickly found the car available in the rental section of Free Play. What’s more, it turns out you can actually own it in-game too. The RSR may be locked in the Car Collection screen, but it can appear as a level up prize. At least one forum member has earned it that exact way already.
The RSR is a welcome addition to the game’s modern GT race car lineup. While Turn 10 expanded that lineup back during FM6’s life, more recent tin-top racers have been a little thin on the ground. The 2017-spec Bentley was the lone current year addition, so perhaps the RSR’s presence precludes other additions like the current R8 LMS (GT3) or 488 (GT3 and GTE).
This marks the third game to receive the 911 RSR. The first was Assetto Corsa, while GT Sport launched with it and three other Porsches in October. Meanwhile, iRacing announced its inclusion at the beginning of the year, but so far, only the 911 GT3 Cup is in the PC racer.
