The beloved Stuttgart-based automaker continues to make rounds this week all over the racing game world. Porsche has decided to introduce itself in Gran Turismo Sport, while being reintroduced to the Forza series via a Forza Horizon 3 car pack and as a sponsor for Season 3 of ForzaRC. To make things even better, a couple of Porsches will be up for grabs in this month’s Forzathon events.
To say there is a single Porsche we aren’t looking forward to would be quite the lie; let’s see what’s in store for FH3 players.
The first golden egg to obtain is the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, available this Easter weekend. As usual with Porsche’s GT3 cars, this machine focuses on driving performance, as made obvious with its flat-six 4.0 liter engine cranking out 500 hp. This 911 model was the final vehicle of the 997 series to come out of the German manufacturer’s factory, with only 600 produced.
A car praised for its plentiful technological advancements is also featured in April’s Forzathon events. The Porsche 959 essentially shaped the future of the 911. With features such as all-wheel drive, active suspension, and a top speed of 197 mph, the 959 achieved many feats seen as nearly impossible in the 1980s.
The next automobile in line is the 911 Turbo 3.3: a Porsche which is a part of the 930 family. Known for its sensitive handling and impressive speed at the time, the 930 originally had a 3.0 liter engine placed at the rear. Once 1978 came around, the 3.0 liter was swapped out for a bigger 3.3 liter engine along with an air-to-air cooler. With this change, the dangerous turbo lag was diminished just a bit.
Last, but in no way least, comes another Porsche boasting many modern technologies: the 918 Spyder. Thanks to its single internal combustion engine paired with two electric motors and carbon monocoque, the 918 strides to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds. Because of this, the 918 is commonly put up for comparison with its hypercar competitors the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari.
Here is when you can store these German masterpieces in your garage:
- Basket Of Goodies (Available April 14-17) – Win the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0.
- Show Us What You’re Working With (Available April 21-24) – Win the Porsche 959.
- Horizon Secret Service (Available April 28 – May 1) – Win the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3.
- Putting On A Show (Available April 18) – Win the Porsche 918 Spyder.
With all these beautiful pieces of engineering being given for free, you may want to take advantage of these Forzathon events before they’re gone for good.
