Porsche has announced a new Gran Turismo 7 online esports competition for players in the USA, with a cash prize pool and an in-person finals event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Porsche Esports Challenge USA is open to players across the USA, aged 18 or over and legal resident in the country. It consists of four online rounds as well as time trials at Porsche dealerships and Experience Centers at locations around the USA.
In total there’s 16 places up for grabs, 12 from the online event and four from the time trials, for a grand final which takes place at the Porsche “Sports Car Together Fest” at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 2-4.
The online event consists of four rounds, each with three entry slots at 2000ET, 2100ET, and 2200ET:
- Round 1 – July 23 – Porsche Vision GT, Trial Mountain
- Round 2 – July 30 – Porsche 911 Carrera RS (993), Laguna Seca
- Round 3 – August 6 – Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Watkins Glen
- Round 4 – August 13 – Porsche 962C, Daytona Road Course
As per the regular Gran Turismo esports format, you can enter as many slots as you want, but only your last result counts. Players will be ranked by their two best points finishes from the four rounds, with the 12 top eligible scores invited to the finals.
There’s a total of six time trial events available, with the best four eligible times nationally also securing an invitation to the finals:
- July 17 – Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles, California
- July 22-23 – Porsche Steven’s Creek, California
- July 29-30 – Porsche Exchange, Illinois
- August 5-6 – Porsche Austin, Texas
- August 12-13 – Porsche Paul Miller, New Jersey
- August 19-20 – Porsche Experience Center Atlanta, Georgia
Porsche will cover flights, accommodation, and entry to the SCTF event, where players will race in an unspecified format for the $30,000 prize pot. The overall winner will take $15,000, with $10,000 and $5,000 available for second and third.
