From an excellent tip by GTPlanet user PalmerW, SCEA game producer Taku Imasaki has quietly confirmed that private online races and in-game chat will be coming to Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. From his response to a comment on the official PlayStation Blog:
“…private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works… but will not be ready from day one. Will keep you posted on the progress!”
Easily the most requested feature of GT5 Prologue, it’s one that we’ve been teased with since Yamauchi first announced the game’s online functionality nearly a year ago. This is sure to be the first of several online updates that we can look forward to after the game is released – stay tuned!
