Four new Community Events have been added to Project CARS 2. The time trials will join the other events recently added to bring players into 2018. There’s even a prize up for grabs in an Autosport-sponsored event.
Each new event offers a distinctly different challenge, with everything from Hypercars to Rallycross competitors spread across the four events. All challenges last until January 1.
The first event is “Vulcan Unleashed”, featuring the Aston Martin Vulcan on the well-known Austrian circuit Red Bull Ring. With many gradient changes and turns chock full of camber, the hypercar is a bit of a squirrely drive here. Keep it under control in the many hairpins to set a respectable time.
Knockhill is the location for two of the events this week. The Scottish circuit hosts the events both aptly named “New Year’s Competition”. You’ll have a choice between an Opel Astra TCR or BMW 320 TC. Choose wisely or opt for both — the track is a fantastic drive in the grippy machines.
Finally, the last event is one which those looking for glory should focus on. Offering tickets for the Autosport International 2018 and a cool £500, players will have to put in a blisteringly fast lap time on Hockenheim’s Rallycross layout in the Mini Countryman. It’s worth noting if you do want the chance to win the prize, you must register on xite’s website to be eligible. Brush up on your drifting skills and find the best possible driving line through the tight S-bends for a good time.
There are no adverse weather conditions to navigate across the board. With no need to worry about stormy skies above, fast times will be down to the driver and the track. Similarly, there are no preset tuning setups to work with either; if you know how to effectively tune a car, use it wisely.
