RaceRoom developer KW Studios has announced that the title’s complete library of content will be free to use for all players through to June 25 — ahead of a one-week sale at the end of the month.
The PC sim, used to host the official esports series of DTM, FIA WTCR, and GT Masters, is a free-to-play title which, as standard, comes with a small selection of 14 free cars and five free tracks.
However there’s more than 200 vehicles and 50 tracks available to buy, either individually or as part of curated packs, priced from just over $1 for the cheapest car and $5 for the least expensive track.
That’s going to change for the free-play period, with all content accessible to all players across all game modes for free until the event ends at 2200 UTC on Sunday June 25.
RaceRoom focuses on racing categories, featuring 77 different classes of car from more than 40 different manufacturers — covering the spread from entry-level single-seaters up to the surprisingly familiar Formula X-22, tintops from GT4 up to Class 1 touring cars, Le Mans winners, and even one-off track toys like the Volkswagen ID.R and Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400.
The circuit list is no less varied, containing a few familiar venues from other titles, but also some you won’t find (as standard) elsewhere. Circuit de Charade and Macau are particular highlights, but RaceRoom also features a wide spread of tracks from the homeland of KW Studios — formerly Sector3: Sweden.
All of the title’s content will be available in all modes, from multiplayer online races and esports to leaderboard challenges and AI races, without restrictions.
Once the free-play period is over, KW Studios will begin its summer sale, with up to 50% off some content and running through to July 2. That means it’s a great chance to try out some cars and tracks you might be considering before picking them up for a discount.
