Rennsport Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2025

Competition Company and Tayon Studios have announced that their upcoming driving simulator Rennsport is no longer a PC exclusive, and will be heading to ninth-gen consoles this year.

It’s been a little while since we heard much of anything from Rennsport, which has been toiling through the various stages of development. Originally set to launch on PC in 2023, the title has rolled from a closed beta early in 2024 to an open beta in the summer, before entering Early Access where it remains to this day.

All the while it’s been the platform for some pretty high-profile, high-value esports events, including the Saudi-backed ESL R1 series, and a special, one-off “Esports World Cup” event in Riyadh in 2024. Otherwise, progress has been a little on the slow side, even as the title has had paid DLC packs

The announcement of a console version coming in 2025 seems to shine some light at the end of the Rennsport tunnel, and it’s come from a rather unexpected source: Nacon.

Announced at the French company’s annual “Nacon Connect” event, it appears that Rennsport’s console version will be published by the brand behind Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and the upcoming Endurance Motorsport Series.

Sebastien Waxin, head of racing at Nacon, remarked “This great upcoming simulation is part of our plan to develop Nacon’s racing division, and to offer a wide range of games to satisfy all types of gamers, including drivers eager to compete on some of the most exciting circuits in the world.”

Although no specific date has yet been given for any of the full releases, Rennsport will support full cross-platform play — allowing PC, PS5, and Xbox Series players to intermingle — so we’re expecting a more-or-less unified release date, and one that’s likely deep into 2025.
