Remember Quantum of Solace? Otherwise known as the worst Craig-era Bond film, it at least opened stupendously, with an adrenaline-pumping chase around Italy’s Lake Garda.
Good news for two-wheel enthusiasts, then: the Strada della Forra, the serpentine road lining Garda, is coming to Ride 3 this November.
The team at Milestone — the studio behind Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO and Gravel — showed off its take on the road in the video above. “Art” is certainly an appropriate term: Strada della Forra is an almost unfairly good-looking ribbon of asphalt, and Milestone has seemingly cherry-picked some of its standout features.
Players will be able to zip along dramatic arched bridges. Multiple waterfalls punctuate the mountainside, as do a variety of tunnels. The latter should offer opportunities to really hear the singing voice of the latest Ducati…
Photogrammetry makes it all possible. The technology is becoming increasingly common in the racing game genre, allowing teams to collect huge swathes of information from real-world locations.
While Milestone has shared the behind-the-scenes look at its Ride 3 rendition of Lake Garda, it’s keeping plenty of info close to its chest. We don’t know how long the track will be yet, for example. It won’t be too long until we know, however: Ride 3 touches down November 8 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
When the game arrives, players will have over 230 bikes to master Lake Garda’s many corners with. Just keep an eye out for any black Alfa Romeos…
