I had trouble finding the right car initially for the London challenge. A detuned FT-1 was a good choice. I think the turbo (torque) kept up the speed even though I had to drop the HP to meet the PP requirements.

Subaru 22b sti handled London for me very nice. Got past the gulf liveried Ford GT40 mk 1on the last lap amongst the dogleg leading into the right then left 90 degree turns. You can remove the TS from the race by exiting, going back in and getting assigned a more appropriate race field. For me an LMP has no place in race with normal race cars. It’s like Usain Bolt running at a high school track meet.

    1. MeanElf

I never really understood the logic usd by PD that allows any racing cars into a street car lineup.

I haven’t seen one at London yet though – I must have been lucky so far.

  3. N0t_L3fty

Sounds like some of you make this too hard. London, 111R tuned up & geared for the front straight, you can chase that Scud down.
If they want to throw that nasty TS out there restrict one of your LMPs down below 600 HP & crush it like a bug. (Of course you bring a LMP, the TS hides).
I like London quick credits, got a Miura P400 very easy to run down the Scud. The GSX-R/4 will do it too.
That adjustable trannie is your friend, never leave the garage without one.

On the London track I used a Mitsubishi Lancer tuned to 500PP and using 99.9% engine power. I have a level 2 turbo and a couple other exaust mods. Plus every high end transmission, differential, triple clutch, hard racing suspension. After a few tries I was able to overtake the lead car with about a 1.2 second gap. It sucked but I got it.

  5. Jack The Ripper

The Honda HSV-010 GT 15th anniv’11 worked wonders for me on the expert lap. Oddly enough, the intermediate race was tougher than the expert one lol.

  6. WheelmanSteve

SSR5 is filler/garbage. In a hot Miata, gold in one try. Normally I don’t like the London circuit, but with the post 1.12 FFB fix it was a whole new show. Gold in 6 attempts, 1997 R33. (This car is my killer 500 pointer… mostly lightened up, then mild power mods to 499… I think the R33 is the sweet spot in the Skyline family.)I’ll be running Grand Valley tonight… Calsonic GT-R? Detuned C6-R? Challenger? Hmmm…

  7. GBO Possum

In my opinion, the degree of difficulty in the intermediate and expert events is totally dependent on choice of car. Both my choice and what is chosen for the AI.

    1. pitstop3343

I don’t know if it’s dependent on what car you choose, possum, but I do know that the rabbit does change from race to race. If you don’t like the line up, exit out, and come back in. chances are, the lead rabbit may be different.

  8. Inconspicuous

I’ll use cars up to 75pp below the regulations and still pull off easy wins. If only AI’s could trail brake….

    :(

  9. gamelle71

the 450 and 500 pp challenge with a Suzuki GSX 4R = easy win ( first at the end of the third lap )
the 600 pp on Gran Valley , only 2 run to win with the HSV 15th Anniversary ( first run I finish second just behind the TS030 for only 1″ , and the second run, first place at the end of the fourth lap )

this stupid IA still slow down during the third and four lap when you are far behind , no change since the beginning of GT6 :-(

  10. DUC748inMD

Have ANY of the overtake challenges offered penalties? I don’t recall seeing them personally.

Thoroughly enjoyed the London Intermediate race with a BRZ. For Expert, the TS030 is quite the car to chase down. I’m sitting P2 and 9s off in an HSV but should be able to whittle that down some…for the win though is questionable.

  11. BrunetPaquet

Nice set of events, no Willow Springs this time around either! Gonna give ’em a try as well, oh and it’s good to see people aren’t talking about penalties in the expert events, does that mean they’re back to penalizing short-cuts only like in the last GT5 seasonal sets?

Can anyone please confirm this? I’m super paranoid when it’s down to expert seasonal races in GT5/GT6 and getting penalized for being rammed/being brushed at or being literally run off the road into a wall. (All right so I’m improving how I predict AI paths to avoid collisions. Getting better recently!)

  12. pitstop3343

Used a 2J for the expert, absolutely no trouble at all, almost cheating, lol. Used a lotus for the london event, it just seemed right, also no trouble at all. Any of my fast 450pp cars for the beginner one, again no trouble at all. Gold 1st try on all of them. I’m gonna try my 450pp lotus on the london track, I think it will be easier, as I will not have to bee so aware of wheel spin, I may be able to do just as fast a lap as the 500pp car.

  13. Jack The Ripper

How can you win at london?? You’re limited to 500 pp, yet the ai can drive way faster cars! There’s a Ferrari in the lead right off the bat. Looks like we have two expert events this time around.

    1. BrunetPaquet

A classic trick: Buy the same car than the race leader or something of the same type than them. Works very often for me. ;)

(Yeah, I know the car can cost a lot… It’s just me being a mass car collector)

  14. SavageEvil

Fun race the London one, just hope one day PD gets back to grid racing of old and actually tune the AI cars so they can compete. My tuned Z4M coupe absolutely loves this course, can just throw it at corners and coax a little more turn just by a quick down shift when understeering. Zoom..Zoom!!!

  15. TrackMonky2jz

used the ft1 vgt on expert, easy win!!! in my opinion gear setting suck for grand valley in that car, But its still damn fast!

    1. nonficshaun

That FT Vision was great and I see what you mean with the gearing. Odd thing is, the lead car was the Citroen GT racecar and the gap between it and the next car was 20 secs smaller than when the TS030 runs the lead. I wonder if the FT can best the TS? But when I take the FT in to race, no TS. When I take in an HSV or NSX I see the TS.

Anyway, the FT is my favorite Vison ride besides the VW now. Good call.

    2. TrackMonky2jz

the pagani was the lead car in my game, but it was giving me a run for my money on the straights, and was it me or the AI’s are more aggressive in the race?

    3. nonficshaun

The back half was lame, but the lead AI seemed somewhat feisty; with no collision penalties it was fun to fight back!

  16. 0r3n

The intermediate seems harder than expert. … took a few good cracks to get to 56 sec laps in London to Gold.. (that silver matte is nice)
as below by the time I got to expert I grabbed the Toyota TS030 (powered down to 600) and gold first time….
And why oh why was there not a zahara seasonal…?
(At least it wasnt willow) ;)

    1. GT5 Level 41

I was hoping for a Zahara seasonal too. A time attack event would’ve been nice too. No sour grapes here. It’s been a good gt6 week.

  17. Brunskill777

So it seems London isn’t impossible you just need the right line up. The Grand Valley race is looking the same as I can’t win when I have a TS030 up front, WHICH IS 630pp! I know it’s expert, but can you make the drivers better and not put them in illegal pp cars??!!

    1. nonficshaun

That TS030 is a cheaper shot than the usual F1 GT that shows up in these races. It takes the fun out of competing with a similar class of cars or even using the VW VGT in one of the few races it is permitted in. (I keep getting 2nd with a 20 sec gap behind the TS, but 5 sec gaps above 3rd.)

However, the TS030 is hardly competitive against most LMP cars, so I guess it needs a place to dominate. Maybe I can use mine and enjoy it for once.

  18. Brunskill777

As usual, London seasonal is near enough impossible. Yet that is only intermediate. London is a crap circuit, and the seasonal races on it are stupid.

    1. Brunskill777

Yes, totally legitimate and official ban from London off some guy from GTP. That must mean I can never go there. Oh what a shame, what will I miss most, the pollution, the traffic congestion or the people. Hard choice.

If you hadn’t realised, I wasn’t damning London as a city, just the track (but as you mention it London is a crap city.)

Thank you for my official ban.

    2. Tyger

Pretty sure Optic was joking and pointing out what a bad advert for London the track is, as in “welcome to London but you will never want to come here”, not personally banning you from the city. Of course I could be totally wrong :)

    3. Brunskill777

Yeah I did get that, my reply was part humour and what I believe to be half truth! Hope he was joking cos I sort of was, though you never know with internet people!

  19. nonficshaun

I was sure that with the addition of fuel and charge gages in the last update we had an endurance seasonal coming next that would utilize them better. Nope. Ah well. There’s been a lot of movement I the last week anyway, so maybe an endurance event would’ve been too much. …wait, what am I saying? I’ve never heard any GT fan complain of TOO MUCH good stuff! (Except all the Miatas, etc in the dealership. Haha.)
