The 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon will be hosting a “Super Gran Turismo Competition” this weekend, which will see some of the country’s top professional drivers face off against one another along with some of the best GT players in the country.
“YAM”, two-time Red Bull 5G champion and Polyphony Digital advisor, will be racing against the drivers, along with one lucky Auto Salon attendee who sets the fastest lap at a special time trial hosted at the show.
There will be 1,000 tickets distributed for the event, which will be streamed live on NicoNico this Saturday, January 10th starting at 10:00 GMT/UTC (convert this to your local time).
The Gran Turismo booth at the Auto Salon will also feature the new SimCraft motion rig – the first full-motion simulator integrated with GT6 that was unveiled a few months ago at Fuji Speedway.
More details on the event are available on the PitStop blog, including this clip of a virtual race among several Super GT stars at Polyphony Digital’s headquarters last month.

Hopefully they do GT Awards for TAS… Fingers crossed..
GT is a mere leaf in the wind.
Seriously still no competitions like this in North America. Good luck once again to my fellow Japanese competitors.
True, however, compared to say, Australia, which only has GT Academy, (if you count that), you American’s are quite spoilt with GT6 events/competitions. Then compare Japan to Australia, it’s a bit like racism, as we get nothing while Japan gets everything.
That is actually a large reason why GT hasn’t reached full potential, PD does not involve countries that are not Japan.
We(aussies) get japanese cars. I love my supra :)
LOL, they should have cut to the part where the Patronas Lexus driver was kicked out of the room for CHEATING! Where’s the evil stewards when you need ’em? ;)
Yes, gtfanforlife, it’s way past due for a SuperDuperGT update. The FT-1 racer has been paired in my garage with the HSV SuperGT car at about 620pp. With 200kg added to the FT-1, they get comparative times at Suzuka.
Cheating? Do tell.
Turn 15, he exceeded track limits pushing two cars off, cut across turns 16 & 17 (Casino triangle) making up places, blocked one car into the apex of turn 18 then ran the race leader off wide of the exit of turn 18 where you can see him turn left on the exit then back to the right after pushing the leader off then take the checkered flag.
Would be a great time to add the new Super GT500 cars…
