2018 F1 Esports Championship

The nine official F1 Esports teams are returning back to the Gfinity Esports Arena in London this evening, for the second live event in the series.

Today marks the beginning of Formula One’s biggest esport event yet. The first three races of the F1 Esport series happen today, and you’ll be able to watch the second and third live, right here.

Not to be outdone by rival — and one-time-BFF — McLaren, Mercedes-AMG has announced its own complete F1 Esports squad. It’s even got one more driver.

McLaren Shadow has announced two new additions to its 2018 F1 Esports squad. While they’re new to the team — itself only a few weeks old — they’re both veterans of the sim racing world.

The very first F1 Esport draft happened earlier this week in London. Nine teams took part, choosing from a crop of 40. Less than half made the cut, and they’ll be facing off for their share of the $200,000 prize pot over the next few months.

Simulator equipment manufacturer Fanatec has become a Formula 1 partner, and official sponsor to the F1 Esports Series.

In an announcement that should surprise few, the second season of the F1 Esports Championship will utilize the next installment in Codemasters’ gaming series.

It appears 2017’s F1 esports championship was only a taster. Earlier today, Formula One announced the 2018 competition, and it promises to be an even bigger event than last year.
