After successful high-speed tests in 2019 seemed to put its troubles behind it, the Bloodhound Land Speed Record project is once again in need of a new owner.
When the Bloodhound project hit the skids in 2018, we were a bit disheartened to say the least. Alongside using the latest technologies, and actually inventing more, to create a car to drive to Mach 1.35, it stood to be the most public feat of extreme engineering the world has ever seen.
It’s been looking bad for the Bloodhound team recently. A project to send a car to 1,000mph was never going to be easy, but with some big-name sponsors on board, all the pieces were nearly in place. After a decade of work, the track was ready, the car had performed well in its shakedown and Bloodhound had marked its calendar.
What is without a doubt the fastest motorsport on the planet, land speed racing is among our favorites. When cars eclipse 600mph it’s nothing short of impressive. Now the UK team known as The Bloodhound Project finally looks to take land speed records to another level.
