The inaugural GT Sport FIA Championships get underway today. If we had to guess, Nissan will be a particularly popular choice in the Manufacturers Series. That’s because four lucky (and quick) players will win a trip to Japan.
Make that plural: there will be two championships this year, in the shape of the Nations Cup and the Manufacturer Series. Both begin with their first seasons this month, with a second in July. Following on from that, a “Final Season” will stretch across August and September. This third series will narrow down the field in preparation for Live Events — much like the Nurburgring races last month — where the top players will face off. From there, the cream of the crop moves to the World Final in November to fight for the crown.
The Gran Turismo Sport FIA Championship will begin in earnest this weekend at the Nürburgring. To celebrate, Polyphony Digital has invited 30 of the top European players to battle it out in front of a live audience.

The third iteration of GT Sport’s pre-season FIA Championship test is now underway. Players can race in the trial tournaments November 19–25 with multiple race starts throughout each daily round.
The second pre-season test for GT Sport’s FIA Championship has now begun. Following on from the first test last week, the exhibition championship allows drivers to get a taste of the real FIA tournaments due to kick off in early 2018. Competition will run November 12–18.
