Racers on Xbox One can look forward to a titan of a racing game this April as part of Microsoft’s monthly “Games With Gold” program. Previous big-name titles that have gone free as part of Games with Gold include Forza Motorsport 6 and its open-world counterpart, Forza Horizon 2.
Xbox Live subscribers, rejoice! While a new Forza title isn’t on the docket for this year, that doesn’t mean players will be left high and dry. Next month, Forza Motorsport 6 will headline the free Games With Gold lineup.

Next month’s Xbox Live Games With Gold will feature Forza Motorsport 5. Announced by Major Nelson, players will be able to pick up the title for free from September 1 to 30. This marks the first time Microsoft has made a current generation Forza title free on the service.
This year has certainly been kind to racers on the Xbox One so far: just earlier this month the Forza Horizon 3 Car Pass was up grabs to Live subscribers for 40% off, and it appears the Xbox team has already outlined its plans for February. Another racing game will be the highlight, this time offered for free through the Games with Gold program.
The countdown is officially underway until the next entry in the open-world series releases later this month. Before racers can blitz around the land down under enjoying features new to the franchise, there’s an interesting detour along the way: the original Forza Horizon is now available to everyone with an active XBL Gold subscription courtesy of this month’s Games With Gold.
