In a surprising move, Criterion Games will once again produce Need for Speed games for EA. UK-based Criterion, which developed three titles in the franchise from 2010 to 2013, will take over as NFS developer from Ghost Games.
With Gamescom kicking off in a matter of weeks, an Austrian website has seemingly revealed the latest title in the long-running Need for Speed franchise. It comes with a sizeable grain of salt, however.
While there is indeed a new Need for Speed coming by the end of 2019, you won’t be seeing it next month. Developer Ghost Games has confirmed it won’t be debuting the as-yet-unnamed sequel in LA for E3 and Electronic Art’s own EA Play in June.
