Over the past few weeks, we have celebrated two years of GT Sport Livery Editor competitions with a very special round dedicated to the GTPlanet community itself.
After nearly two years of wait, buyers can now place their order for the $35,000 Tesla Model 3. Yet just like when it was first announced back in July 2017, it’s still not as it seems.
Back in 2013, GT Academy was in full swing, and a promising young driver from the UK by the name of Adam Suswillo made it all the way to the final race of the competition. Despite an impressive performance, Suswillo came up just short of the crown, as the judges selected Portugal’s Miguel Faisca as that year’s European GT Academy champion.
Fifteen years ago, I sat in front of the family computer, listened to that sound of a dial-up modem connecting to the Internet, and set out to tackle the seemingly impossible and exciting task of building my very own website: GTPlanet.
With over a quarter million registered users, GTPlanet can seem a little big. Going by 2012 numbers, it would actually rank 74th in terms of American cities, sitting between Buffalo NY and Fort Wayne IN. “Project CARS” – a new racing game from Slightly Mad Studios – is set to release in March, and it’s going to feature one very special car for our community here! The game’s RUF CTR3 SMS-R will be available in a full GTPlanet livery, conceived by GTP member Willfred_1 and custom designed by FLX1981.
GTPlanet has reached a major milestone today, as we celebrate more than 10,000,000 messages posted in our forums! This incredible number comes thirteen years, six months, and eleven days since the GTPlanet Forums were officially opened on May 14, 2001, with this rather unceremonious post by yours truly.
As you might expect from GTPlanet – home to the largest online community of Gran Turismo enthusiasts – we are eager to take advantage of the brand new “Community Features” which just rolled out in GT6 update 1.14!
I am often asked about GTPlanet logo stickers, and I am excited to announce that we now have an official partner from which you can purchase high-quality vinyl decals in a variety of colors, sizes, and formats.
GTPlanet is partnering with GTChannel and PlaySeat USA to host a special online race event – streamed live on GTChannel’s popular YouTube network – and there are over $1,000 in prizes up for grabs.
Everybody has opinions and ideas on what they’d like to see in a Gran Turismo game, but with thousands of messages posted in GTPlanet’s forums every day, it can be difficult to get a clear picture of what people are really asking for.
