It seems that even after 15 months on sale, GT Sport still has a few hidden secrets. Thanks to GT Online Championship world finalist Adam Wilk, we’ve been able to discover one such Easter Egg which may hint at a track we’ve not yet seen in the game.

We’re sure many Gran Turismo fans took some improbable cars around the Kart Space track in GT6. Well, Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) pro, Carl Renezeder, did just that in Carlsbad, California.
Polyphony Digital has just released the latest software update for Gran Turismo 6, after an online service maintenance period. Unfortunately, the update does not immediately introduce any significant new content, as many expected after a new track was teased for the game back in January.

Remember the outraged city of Siena, which was preparing legal action against Sony because the city’s Contrade flags appeared around GT5’s karting track, Piazza del Campo? There was some concern and confusion regarding what the eventual outcome would be, but the solution fortunately turned out to be quite simple: the offensive flags were removed and Siena’s cultural heritage “protected”… As reported by Corriere Fiorentino:
Thanks to our team at Gamescom 2010 (and a new YouTube video uploaded by PlayStation Spain), we’ve got an early scoop on the contents of the latest Gran Turismo 5 demo on display – confirming some of the game’s most exciting new features. GT5’s new karting mode is revealed, along with the debut of the Autodromo Nationale Monza circuit! Andreas of InsideSimRacing also noticed that skidmarks are visible on the tarmac (see video above, though it’s not from Andreas), and a non-functioning “course maker” option was visible in the menus. He also wisely compiled a complete list of all the cars and tracks available:
Scans of the French PlayStation Official Magazine’s feature on GT5 reveal the magazine is weighing in on two of the game’s most exciting unannounced features. Most confidently, they’ve listed karting as a major category in the game and even included a small note on the track editor. Of course, the text is in French, but you can see all the scans for yourself right here.
Jokes were made when our inside man, amar212, first mentioned a track editor coming to GT5 more than a year ago. Today, he gets the last laugh, as president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed “track creating and sharing”, “go-karting”, and a “weather system” is coming to the game in an interview posted directly on the official PlayStation UK website.
