Last year, Eden Games brought its mobile racer, Gear.Club Unlimited, to the Switch at a time when Nintendo’s platform desperately needed some racing representation.
It’s hard to believe it’s already been just over one year since Eden Games ported its popular mobile racer, Gear.Club, to the Switch. With its release, Nintendo’s hybrid console received its first semi-realistic racer — if “semi-realistic” can be defined by an absence of hovercrafts and cartoon mischief.
Last month, the American Wilds expansion landed for Spintires: Mudrunner on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. However, if you had a Switch you were out of luck. That’s not the case any longer though as the game is now out on Nintendo’s system.
The Switch is home to some of the year’s best games — unless you’re a racing fan. While it’s true Nintendo’s platforms have never been a haven for the genre, the hybrid console is awfully shorthanded in the racing department, even compared to its predecessors. Excellent as they are, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Fast RMX can only satisfy for so long.
