Red Bull is highlighting their involvement with the Gran Turismo series on the company’s official blog, days before the big “15 Years of Gran Turismo” event to be held at Silverstone this Wednesday, May 15th.
A special competition is going to be held for Gran Turismo 5 players in Japan, as part of the larger “Red Bull 5G” gaming championship. The GT5 element kicks off with a Seasonal Event in the game on October 2, using a modified version of the Red Bull X2010.
When Sony announced the GT5 Academy Edition at the end of July, they advised us that “there is more news yet to come on this title”. True to their word, a surprising suite of bonus content has been announced in the last few minutes.
Top finalists from the six eligible territories, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, were brought together for the Super GT race at the circuit. Sony hosted the final event in GT5 on Suzuka using the Motul Autech GT-R ’08, the Calsonic Impul GT-R ’08, and the YellowHat YMS Tomica GT-R ’08.
