This weekend marks the 86th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It coincides with a pivotal time for the world’s greatest race. Rising costs for the top-level LMP1 prototypes have left Toyota as the only factory-backed entrant in the class. Meanwhile, organizers are busy developing a cheaper and more marketable formula to replace it that would ideally encourage manufacturers to invest again.

As we speak, Slightly Mad Studios is putting the finishing touches on Project CARS 2. While the game should be in our hands in just a few weeks’ time, its soundtrack was only recently finalized. A newly-released video has given us an inside look at the process behind the upcoming sim racer’s dramatic score.

Nvidia has uploaded new PC gameplay footage of the upcoming Project CARS 2 on its official YouTube channel, featuring the Mercedes AMG GT3 going around Fuji Speedway. Powered by the company’s GeForce GTX 1080 video card, gameplay has been captured in 4K resolution.

The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as “Interlagos”, is on its way to Project CARS 2.

Following the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s (ACO) announcement of the new 2017 LMP1 class rules for the FIA World Endurance Championship, Ginetta has disclosed that it will be an LMP1 chassis manufacture for the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship with an all new chassis.
