Slightly Mad Studios has updated Project CARS 2 with two new community events for players to get stuck into. Following up on last week’s strangely cold Daytona challenge, this time around there’s challenges on Long Beach and Ruapuna Park.
The time trial at Ruapuna puts drivers in charge of the Ferrari 288 GTO. The classic ’80s Italian supercar is a fun drive in Project CARS 2, though be weary of its backend. Even with a slight amount of excessive throttle, you could be sitting at the side of the road. The good news is that the weather is decent enough, with some heavy clouds the extent of what has to be dealt with.
Next up is the latest Team SMS-R challenge featuring Le Mans winner Tommy Milner. As a handling consultant for the title, Milner also knows quite a bit about Project CARS 2. His challenge consists of taking on the Long Beach Street Circuit in the beastly Chevorlet Corvette C7.R.
The GTE class vehicle is a grippy racer that performs well in the tight bends of Long Beach. After you tear your hair out putting a good lap in the GTO, this is the perfect way to unwind. The C7 can be pushed pretty far before squirming out of your control. Use this to your advantage and put in a blistering lap time.
