Formula One has announced that, Hutch, a mobile game developer, will be producing officially-licensed F1 games in 2019.
Hutch is a mobile-focused developer. Founded in 2011, the company has delivered games to 200 million consumers, all centered on motoring. Titles include Hot Wheels: Race Off, MMX Racing and Smash Cops. These vary from isometric rallycross racers to third-person driving games.
Hutch will develop F1 mobile games for iOS and Android platforms, in what it describes as a “multi-year, multi-game” agreement.
Frank Arthofer, director of digital, licensing and new business at Formula 1, said:
“Since Liberty Media’s acquisition of Formula 1, we have sought to establish partnerships that can enrich the experience of fans via innovative digital channels. We see Hutch as a leading mobile game development and publishing partner that can enable and reinforce that initiative, ensuring we engage our expanding, passionate worldwide community of fans.”
