They’re back! Jezza, Captain Slow, and Hamster have officially returned with The Grand Tour, fuelled by a venerable American e-commerce juggernaut. Amazon Prime subscribers in the US, United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany can enjoy the first episode — titled “The Holy Trinity” — right now.
No, the title isn’t a deluded boast: it’s a reference to the long-overdue three-way fight between the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrrari, and Porsche 918 Spyder. The team takes the set of modern hybrid hypercars to Portugal, something we’ve known about for quite some time.
Early reviews for the show have been overwhelmingly positive across the web. After what many would describe as a troubled 23rd season of Top Gear, which was full of new hosts attempting to recapture the spirit of these three men, the new show is a bit like seeing an old friend. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
As announced earlier this week, Amazon has teamed up with Microsoft for a contest featuring a variety of Xbox items and a 55″ 4K HDR TV to be won. You can grab all the details right here.
For those of us not lucky enough to live in one of the four territories listed up top, a little patience is required. A message from the guys states almost 200 countries will gain access to the show as early as next month:
We’re not going to venture into any spoilers here, but if you’re looking to chat about the show, you’ll want to head over to the dedicated thread over in our forums.

Sounds like some people need to thicken their skin a little bit and not take things too seriously. I used to love Top Gear, but when these three left and they tried the same format with Chris Evans and a group of multinational characterless “celebrities”, it failed miserably. They could have done their own thing and made it different and it might have worked, but they didn’t, and it didn’t. It was absolutely awful.
Put Clarkson, Hammond and May back together and suddenly it all starts to work again – the humour, the comradery – they make The Grand Tour compelling watching, and I for one am looking forward to seeing how season 1 progresses.
By the way, it works in Australia, works in Australia oh and it uhh, works in Australia too.
I really love these guys… people sometimes get confused expecting a serious documentary about cars, post their rants, but still watch it (???). Interweb people complain if shows are the same, and even more if they change… Either way, i can sit and watch these 3 talk about anything. Welcome back, lads.
Ugh, had enough of these jerks running around the world insulting anyone and everything that wasn’t British in the last Top Gear seasons.
They failed missably to do the P1, LaFerrari, and 918 face off in their last Top Gear season and now I don’t care anymore.
On top of that, these guys are too pathetic to look at newcomers such as One:One or Venom because they are cannot accept that anyone outside Brittian makes a new good sports car, unless they are from Italy or Germany.
That was due to Ferrari and McLaren not being able to agree to the terms of the test and had nothing to do with Top Gear themselves. For their part Porsche basically said let us know when you two ladies are ready and we’ll show up.
@Mickeman
The One:1 and Venom have hybrid systems? I mean this was a test of hybrid hypercars, so…
Also, make sure you chastise all other media outlets that talk about these three but don’t feature other cars.
From there very beginning these guys have criticized most things that aren’t British, so I would imagine you could have stopped caring years ago.
If you like it a show, watch it and don’t complain. If you don’t like a show, don’t watch it, and still don’t complain.
Do people seriously have this crappy self esteem that they cannot take light hearted jokes about their countries without getting angry and defensive?
And they do mock Britain too.
More money doesn’t make it a better show. I enjoyed watching it but it is getting old real quick. Not sure if I can be bothered to finish the first season.
Episode 1 was pretty good. I would say as good as an average Top Gear episode, but not nearly as good as some of their best ones. But “average Top Gear” is still pretty darn good.
It’s prettt good, but I thought “The American” to be unnecessary…
Oh come on… I don’t wish to count how many voices have been done by the Americans, especially during war times (e.g. songs from Spike Jones). It’s just a little thing called satire and we all need to grow a skin for it and not act like little bitches taking offence of every little thing.
@gtfanforlife
Really? Why?
HoldenMan3000 is Australian, and its a satire addressing the stereotypical hatemail they get from the aussies in the past, this time its to explain the exclusivity of the show for the first month and to explain that it goes worldwide in Dec. and the accent is clearly a poor attempt at an Australian character…..
I just didn’t think it was funny, I don’t know of anyone who talks like that… Also Mike Skinner is from California, so he for sure doesn’t talk like that…
I think you missed the part where it’s a comedy show, not a documentary.
@Johnnypenso
You’re saying I shouldn’t take everything on TV or the internet seriously?
=)
@gtfanforlife, I think you need to lighten up a bit. It’s called satire, and it works.
Unless you’re holdenfan3000.
