What updates giveth with one hand, they taketh away with the other…
While Fanatec wheel users have good cause to celebrate the latest GT Sport update, Thrustmaster users are less happy.
From the moment the update became available, our forums were awash with users complaining that their peripherals were dead. This was primarily those with the T500RS wheel, but also a number of other Thrustmaster models.
The good news is that Polyphony Digital is aware of, and working on, the issue. Official GT Sport racing pods, used in Sony competitions around the world, use the T500RS wheel (or T-GT), so that comes as little surprise:
Known Issues After Update 1.15
03/29/2018We have confirmed that after the installation of Update 1.15 released on 29 March, the following issues are occurring:
・The Thrustmaster T500RS steering wheel has stopped working;
・In some cases, cursor sounds, Menu BGM, tyre screeching, and collision noises are not played by the game.We are currently hard at work to resolve these issues as soon as possible.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused and ask for your patience while we’re working to find a solution.
As noted above, the update also introduced a couple of other issues. The team has already resolved one, a bug where the game would hang on the load screen while retrieving data from the server. That just leaves the sound issue, which only appears on some occasions and users may sometimes fix by rebooting the game, and the Thrustmaster problem.
It’s not known when Polyphony will fix these issues, or if it will require a new game update. We’re anticipating another update on April 9, to bring the Audi Vision GT car.
