Turn 10 kicked off the weekend with additional events for Forza Motorsport 7 players. This includes the first open drift hopper for the game, as well as a hardcore, no-assists Rivals event.
Community Manager Brian Ekberg announced the additions in Friday’s Week In Review. The new events come on the back of the previous week’s new hoppers and Rivals events, which we detailed here. It’s good to see the game’s online offerings expanding so regularly, as that was one of our initial criticisms during our FM7 review.
New Multiplayer Hoppers
- Exotic GT – Simple enough, really. Grab a homologated modern day supercar for this one.
- Unlimited Drift – RWD – The only requirement here is that power — as much as you want — hits the tarmac via the two rear contact patches only.
Rivals Events
- Forza Trophy Trucks Division – The big, burly trucks of the game get their turn in the spotlight, around Laguna Seca no less. Good luck…
- Running Hardcore – Offering up a trip around Circuit of the Americas the same weekend the F1 circus was there, this event forces all aids off in the Forza P2 division, one of the game’s fastest.
- Drifting the Valley – Another drifting event at classic Maple Valley, this one requires an Early Sport Touring car from your garage. Rack up those points!
Update On VIP Status
Ekberg also gave us an update on the VIP situation. Forza players will remember that series big boss Alan Hartman penned an open letter about the controversy earlier this month. In it, he stated the traditional, permanent 2x credit bonus would be patched in.
According to Ekberg, work is well underway on the update, and it could be ready as early as this week. We’ll have a full post detailing the patch when it arrives — stay tuned.
