Yes, you read the title correctly. ’90s rally racing franchise V-Rally is making a comeback this year, launching on all major platforms in September 2018. The news comes via a new trailer, giving us a sneak-peek at the type of content the new entry will offer.
Behind the development wheel is Kylotonn Racing, the team behind last year’s quite good WRC 7. This announcement comes as a surprise, as V-Rally 4 revives a series not seen in over a decade. The trailer is brief but gives us a look at what type of events and vehicles it will offer including rallycross, rally and gymkhana. Other confirmed events include buggy and hill climb.
The teaser also gives us our first inklings of a car list. Porsche and Ford are definitely in, with the appearances of a Ford Fiesta, Mustang and Porsche 911 present. The initial PR statement specifies that 50 cars will appear in the final release this September.
With the off-road genre becoming more and more popular, players are quite spoiled for choice. We were disappointed with recent release Gravel, but Kylotonn might be able to capture some arcade rally magic. We’ll see what V-Rally 4 can deliver later this year on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
