Today’s a big day for tech brands. Apple kicked things off in San Francisco an hour ago, but for gamers, all eyes are across the country. Right in Times Square, Sony is set to present the future of the PlayStation brand at — appropriately enough — the PlayStation Theater. You can watch the entire event unfold from the official live stream posted above.
We’ve already got a fair idea of what Sony has planned, thanks to the almost-unavoidable leaks leading up to today. The PS4 Slim was captured out in the wild last month, and we even got to watch it boot up (the video has now been removed). It will bring a new form factor to this generation’s best-selling console, while also offering a counter-point to Microsoft’s recently-released (and successful) Xbox One S. Expect a detailed breakdown of the storage options and price at the event today.
We know less about the upcoming powered-up PS4. Internally referred to as ‘Neo’, the new system was confirmed by SIE CEO Andrew House in the run-up to E3. It’s widely expected to make its first official appearance at today’s event. We’ve seen leak after leak supposedly detailing the new system’s power and Sony’s plans for how it’ll fit into the PlayStation eco-system. It will be important for the company to clarify exactly what this new system is and does.
The presentation kicks off at 3PM EST (click here to convert to your timezone). Stay tuned to GTPlanet for more news as it’s unveiled!

Well that was a shockingly dull, monotone and overall highly unenthusiastic presentation.
I can understand feeling a bit deflated that all the details were leaked (some spectacularly so), but damn. They were acting like they’ve already been defeated by Scorpio and the NX.
I don’t see the Scorpio as something that will defeat this, after all, MS thought that before and that didn’t turn out too well for them.
I use to like Sony’s PS designs, what in the world happen to them? They just cant design a good looking console no more.
It looks exactly like it should imo. Like a PS4 that’s bigger and better. If they did a complete redesign, people would think it’s something other than a PS4, and considering the PS4’s success and the desire to not differentiate, alienate, or separate the playerbase, they kept it very similar.
I personally like it.
Agreed Ice – I think it’s quite elegant and a third layer makes complete sense (to me.)
Well that was a lack luster affair – very low key for a PlayStation presentation.
So dissapointed with Sony with that design… like the slim was already ugly but this is just a fatter one with an extra layer, really could’ve done better
I’m sorry, but how? The slim is essentially the same as the PS4 but it slimmer and has rounded edges. The design trend has been established for a while now. To me at least a third layer is a brilliant and logical choice.
I suppose its going to be one of those polarising subjective situations, but really, when all is said and done, are you looking at the console or the game you are playing on it?
They didn’t showed any racing game not even their both exclusive title Driveclub and GTsport
I hope they have a team to make DriveClub and DriveClub VR PS Pro ready. Even better would be, if Evo’ handled it already!!!
Evo did, at least for the VR side of things – Sony got them back in to do the last remaining bits so maybe they’ll get the Pro conversion job too – we’ll see.
It’s a triple layered PS4, lol!
That would make it a six-layered unit…;)
I won’t watch it because I know no GTSPORT at the conf. Thanks Poly for the delay…
