As we reported earlier this week, an exhibition match is about to kick off with GT Sport this weekend at the Tokyo Game Show. Set to pit Gran Turismo fans and Super GT racers against one another, the event will be kicking off in only a few minutes.
The talented members of the public that made it through today’s earlier qualification round will have to contend with the likes of Katsumasa Chiyo, Daisuke Ito, and Ara Seiji.
Reports from the show floor indicate little has changed involving the game since we last saw it in public at Gamescom. This exhibition match provides an opportunity for fans to take a fine-tooth comb to the rarely-seen Sport Mode. We’re anxious to see in what ways, if at all, Polyphony has made improvements to the online experience.
Tune into the race as it gets underway in the official Sony stream up top!
Gran Turismo Sport is currently planned to arrive at some point in 2017 for PlayStation 4.

Skip to 23:53 for racing btw…
Thank God! That wretched tire squeal has been reduced/removed! Now we can actually better hear the engine sounds and vehicle noises the sound team has been working so tirelessly to develop and improve!
Thanks Kaz & PD!
Don’t get too carried away – Slick tyres don’t really squeal unless you lose control completely.. The annoying squeal is still there and the sounds are very similar to GT6.. Big deal!
‘sounds are similar to gt6’ Are you deaf?
I think when you’re using sport tires they should squeel. I have Pilot SuperSports on my mk6 GTI and they squeal on Big Willow. I’m assuming those are the equivalent to sport hard on GT.
That evening lighting is pretty nice
Yeah. The camera effects during the replay were great as well. Especially showcasing the lighting effects on the headlights at certain points.
The sites the sounds it is getting there .
They do need to add some sort of penalty for the harder hitting colisions. These are supposed to be mock-pro events, but the bumper car/zero penalization racing kills it.
Wow, the GT-R sounds really close to the real car now.
http://youtu.be/EivVEJ2GIzQ I agree, it just need more mechanical sound effects.
sorry, but not even close: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Tg3w8jI3us
That vid is of the BMW Z4…or am I missing the point?
it’s a GT3 car, like the ones in the vid.
R1600Turbo’s comment was about the Nissan GT-R – and not all GT3 cars sound the same.
BMW Z4 and bumper microphone, not in car.
This Raceroom vid is incar and mechanical sounds is too high. I like this RR vid sounds, but… maybe mechanic sound is little too high.
Just looking GT3 plancpain 3hours race and incar sounds is very close to RR sounds.
@fet_thunderdome he’s talking about gt-r gt3 though, not sure why posted a bmw z4.
