The third week of the Forza Racing Championship kicked off earlier this week. Elite competitors are placed behind the wheel of the 2016 Ford #66 Ford Racing GT Le Mans, and are expected to navigate the many twists and turns of Watkins Glen. Those participating in the Open Series will have to endure a variety of tracks in the Leagues events, piloting the same racing version of Ford’s latest supercar.
While the Rivals Qualifying event is well underway, racers have until tomorrow to leave it all on the track as only the top 128 will move onto the knockout-style, 1-on-1 Series Cup this coming Saturday. The remaining 12 from the event will then move on to the final race the following day broadcasted on Twitch for the world to see, and the final four will win prizes and qualify for the Grand Finale next month: a set of keys to a real-world 2017 Focus RS.
Every FM6 racer that posts a time in this week’s Rivals event will receive the exclusive 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 as an added bonus, featuring a new ForzaRC-themed livery that will change weekly.
Even more interesting is Open Series competitors will be vying for various in-game DLC prizes, the likes of which include the NASCAR and Porsche Expansions, and the Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass. This week the NASCAR Expansion is on the line for all players that finish in the top half of the League standings. For a quick refresher, you can explore the contents of the expansion here.
Additionally, every player that participates in the Leagues event will receive the 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III to add to their garage — regardless of finishing position.
To be eligible for the knockout tournament and NASCAR Expansion, players will need to sign up at ESL’s Forza Racing Championship page.
