In the run-up to the release of Project CARS 2 and Forza 7, their respective predecessors are available for cheap this week.
Up first in terms of release date is PCARS2, which lands September 22. The Complete Edition of the first game is up for grabs on the US PlayStation Store this week. That’s a lot of content for less than $20.
We’ve been revisiting the title in preparation for the sequel, and the CE is a much more resolved game than what launched in 2015. There are a few cars not making the jump to PCARS2 this month, such as Ariel and RUF’s lineups, so we’d recommend grabbing this.
Across the pond, PlayStation players are treated to a handful of arcade-oriented games. Both Trackmania Turbo and The Crew lead the way there.
Next up on the autumn release docket is Forza Motorsport 7. Before that though, Xbox players with a valid Gold subscription can currently download FM5 for free this month. Microsoft has discounted the 2013 title’s DLC alongside this, meaning you can grab the VIP and Car Passes for under $10. This effectively provides the complete version of the game.
Jumping forward two years, there are various FM6 deals to be had. The vanilla game is half its original list price, while the entire DLC collection — all car packs, VIP, and two expansions — rings in at $35. That’s a decent deal for a game that is only beaten in terms of size by FM7. Plus, with Toyota’s road cars cut from the upcoming game’s lineup, FM6 offers a unique selling point over the newer game.
Finally, Steam is embracing rallying this week, with all manner of deals for Milestone’s Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO. If you haven’t picked this one up yet, it’s an interesting, slightly off-beat look at arguably the greatest rally driver the world has seen. Plus, those Class S prototypes are a huge draw…
