It’s that time again, we’re coming up on the biggest gaming event of the year. Of course we’re referring to E3. Whether it be a breadth of games or new hardware reveals, we’re ready for it all. With news expected from every possible direction, next week will be chaotic — we can’t wait!
Before talking about our expectations from the annual gaming extravaganza, a lot has changed since we last spoke. While there’s too much to cover since our last interaction as a whole, we’ll focus on these past two weeks.

As its no doubt become apparent, June has been an absolute goldmine in terms of news. Although the month has only just started, it’s only going to liven up as the days move on.
While all the heavy-hitters are seemingly accounted for, only one remains: GT Sport. As players are currently engaged in the closed beta, the game’s release date remains a mystery. A mystery that could be resolved next week once Sony takes to the stage. We could be enjoying GT Sport before year’s end, if luck is on our sides.
Forza Motorsport 7 is another peculiarity. All but confirmed since late last year, a lot appears to be riding on the seventh entry in the franchise. How will the forthcoming racer expand its horizons, especially in the wake of Project Scorpio? To say it’s an exciting time to be a racing gamer would be an understatement.
Picture of the Week
This week’s image comes to us courtesy of torque99. While Driveclub may never see a sequel, the arcade racer is still pulling strong in our community. Pictured above are two sporty Audi TT RS machines going toe-to-toe against the elements.
Who knows what the reformed Evolution Studios has up its sleeves. Perhaps even a spiritual successor is in the works?
The Developer Build of Forza Horizon 3 Keeps on Giving
A development build of Forza Horizon 3 was mistakenly released to the public earlier this year. With that in mind, it appears Playground Games has more content in mind.
Players have found numerous cars added into the database, including audio files. The full list:
- BUG_Type57S_37 (1937 Bugatti Type 57S)
- CHE_HooniganBelair_55 (1955 ‘Tri 5 By Fire’ Chevrolet Bel Air)
- TOY_Sports800_65 (1965 Toyota Sports 800)
- CIT_2CV_70 (1970 Citroen 2CV)
- CHE_HooniganNova_72 (1972 ‘Napalm Nova’ Chevrolet Nova)
- BM_Blazer_79 (1979 Baldwin Motorsports Chevrolet Blazer)
- PEU_405T16_88 (1988 Peugeot 405 T16)
- POR_Hoonigan_91 (1991 ‘RWBxHoonigan 965’ Porsche 911 Turbo)
- MAZ_Twerkstallion_92 (1992 ‘Twerkstallion’ Mazda RX-7)
- POR_928GTS_93 (1993 Porsche 928 GTS)
- MG_MG3_13 (2013 MG MG3)
Notable inclusions are the Porsche 928 GTS and Peugeot 405 T16. The former is Porsche’s first attempt at a luxury grand tourer. Meanwhile, the latter of those two is a Pikes Peak monstrosity. These discoveries suggest Playground intends to prolong support of the game well into the summer.

Project Scorpio Now Offers Developers a Total of 9GB for Games
We’re only a day from the Xbox E3 briefing this Sunday, but apparently Microsoft had one last detail to share before then. Mike Ybarra took to Twitter to confirm that game developers would have access to an additional 1GB of memory.
Developers will have to access to 9GB to build their games for the platform due to the increase. As a result of the additional headroom, improvements arrive in the form of increased performance across the board. Furthermore, any game not taking advantage of the full overhead will see all remaining memory used as a cache.
For more details head to the the original story here. We’re only days away from Microsoft’s E3 briefing this Sunday.
Vehicle of the Week
DiRT 4 has finally touched down for North American rally enthusiasts looking for their fix of all things gritty. A rally car — an explosive one at that — seemed the perfect candidate for this week’s featured vehicle.
Peugeot’s 208 T16 RS is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged I4 coupled with vicious giddy-up. To say nothing of the crackling and pops synonymous with the discipline, the little Peugeot angrily growls and buzzes in the above video.
The Last Lap
Next week we’ll be recapping all of the chaos from this year’s E3. The biggest problem of the year isn’t the games, it will be finding the necessary time for them. While there are many racers we’re looking forward to this year with bated breath, no company has found a way to increase the amount of hours in the day quite yet!
September is going to be an insane month overall. Bring it on 2017, show us what you’ve got.
Until next time, keep racing.
