Members of iRacing can now have the chance to drive a real race car thanks to a new competition in partnership with Mazda.
The Mazda Hot Lap Challenge runs from April to October, with a qualifying event every month. There will be qualifiers both in game and at select racing events in a Mazda consumer display area. Qualifiers will utilize the Time Attack format for Online members.
The first qualifiers begin this weekend, with Online members taking to the Daytona Road Course. At-track qualifying begins for visitors to Long Beach this weekend.
The fastest five drivers from each online qualifier will earn invitations to a season-ending race towards the end of this year. The race winner and the fastest overall at-track qualifier will win a VIP trip to the 2019 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
There, the fastest drivers will compete in a Grand Final to win the main prize: a test in a Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Car later in 2019.
The competition is open to United States residents aged over 18. An iRacing membership is also required for participation in the online qualifiers. For more information on the conpetition, rules and regulations, be sure to head to the iRacing Mazda Hot Lap Challenge page. Best of luck!
