As Porsche celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, it’s joined forces with Xbox to produce some special editions of the Xbox Series X inspired by its cars.
Revealed at Summer Game Fest today, the very short run of consoles — 75 in total, of course — will wear designs of famous Porsche racing machines across the last three-quarters of a century.
There’ll be a total of six different designs, with the livery run by the current Le Mans Hypercar Porsche 963 racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend the first to be revealed.
Other designs include the famous “Pink Pig” worn by the Porsche 917/20 which raced at the 1971 event, and the “Hippie” 917LH from the previous year. In fact the Porsche 917 makes up more than half of the designs, with the famous red and white livery as used on the race-winning 1970 car, and the more recent “Living Legend” homage.
There’s more Le Mans-winning liveries too, including the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1’s blue-swirled Mobil 1 design. The sextet of consoles is completed by the classic, long-lived Martini design that has adorned multiple Porsche models including three Le Mans winners in 1971, 1976, and 1977.
Each console also comes with a wireless Xbox controller in a matching design, but there’s some bad news too: you won’t be able to buy one (unless they hit ebay).
The 75 consoles are all prizes for a sweepstakes competition that’s only open to adult (18+) residents of the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. It runs from today, June 8, through the October 1, with one entry per person per day allowed.
You need only enter your name, address, and email on the special event website to enter the competition, and the draw will take place on October 3.
