The usual D1 photos just a day late. We had a small grid of 6, it may be a good idea to look at a division merge next season especially as we are approching the summer months. On another note, I'm really happy to see the Alpine survive, at that point why not make it an even 10 consecutive week run.

I have read the first post and would like to join.
Thought this might be coming soon...

@Oshawa-Joe

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, SAMHAIN85, llNovall & Akzl298
as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Busy work week kept me from combing through last Sunday's replays looking for pictures of what I saw.

Friday Afternoon = Car Show Time. I see @Worst_Driver got it started early on Wednesday. And ever since I saw his post, I've been asking myself "how did he get those cars there?"

The Alpine returns for week #9 and at this point, it really deserves to celebrate it's 10th week anniversary next week. I ask the veteran Snails, when was the last time a car got to celebrate such an honor?

My lineup for Sunday...

Glad to see returning Snails @Oshawa-Joe and @Fudman420 show interest once again.
See you Sunday

On another note, I won't be able to attend this week unfortunately. @Dragonwhisky can you please host tomorrow night ?
I reckon I can have a bash at it.
Podiums are back on the menu, boys 👹

Unfortunately, I still require a few more withdrawals for podiums.
You and me both. You get to pick which one of those minions, up there, you are. ;)

10 consecutive weeks raced? It hasn't happened. As far as I can tell from this and this sheet in this file the Alpine will set the record at 9 this Sunday. The attached excel file shows my findings on cars with >=8 appearances. You'll have to forgive the ugly format. It was a quick and dirty data collection effort (which still took a couple of hours). As near as I can tell, only 3 other cars have achieved a string of 8 consecutive appearances. Kinda' unexpected which 3 too. Admittedly, there's a couple irregularities in the list with some duplicate entries in all caps but the filter search thing didn't care about it, as long the text string was the same.
@Buffalo_DRD That will forever remain a mystery.
Nah. Just takes some time and someone willing to cull the data. Someone smarter than me probably could've wrote a query or something and smashed this out in <10 minutes. The data is all there for all manner of answers to be had.

I was referring to how my cars ended up on the shore

But thanks for digging through the data, lets make it an even 10 at that point.
Also, I love that SNAIL has so in depth data going back to 2011, thanks mostly to the amazing work of @Akzl298 and probably others I may forget.

I'm having trouble accessing the sheet from my mobile. What were the other 3 cars?

Ahh.

The list of folks that have built and maintained SNAIL Data is long. @zer05ive , @kcheeb , @Vol Jbolaz, @msgt-sd @Rednose58 , @Akzl298 and all the scorekeepers and data entry specialists over the years. There may be several I'm missing that had a hand or two in the data collection efforts.

The bottom 2 hadn't been run before or after their 8 week stints. I suspect it'll be quite a while before the Alpine returns, once it's voted out.
