First clean lap in the Suzuki gave me 9:49.244 for 1332 in the world, which is fine by me. Did oil change, racing brakes and triple plate clutch.

Want to try some other cars now, ran a 10:10.xxx in an Esprit earlier but with one fault. Can definitely be done, the Suzuki had tons more to give though, I was pretty careful.

If anyone wants to try, below is the link for a awesome tune from Exeter Tuning by @shaunm80 for Sierra...

Only changes are Sports Hard and Final Gear (for me) - 3.500

Super easy gold, I did 9:39:xxx almost cruisin' the track...

Link

👍

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the car is Shelby Series One Super Charged '03

Picked up @SW__10 tune from previous thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/non-racecar-super-lap-mount-panorama-racing-circuit.313557/ and started to do some laps in suzuki straight a way. Tune feel stable enough and even tough I don't even know the track that good managed to make lap under 9.10 this should be a good way to learn this track once and for all, I think I already memorized first 4 minutes, somewhat

There's other tunes also on that link that I think could go pretty good on this track as well, just adjust the gears!! Thanks again for all the tuners for sharing, these should provide at least some sort of base tune for this event, I mean it's a bumpy fast track with couple of fast corners, bit like panorama... sort of..

Happy hunting :gtpflag:

Had a crack in a bone stock car - The RUF BTR - for me it was just right. My 2nd lap got a 10m02 - then it was lapping fast enough for gold, without a "Russian Gold" lap. (With matching black flag!)

Had a lot of fun with the BTR, shame I've painted it Chrome 6W (Turquoise Chrome).

The finish line is a bit of a trick... its placement is so late on that final straight.

That late finish line proved very costly for me. Was on a sub 9:30 lap turning into the final straight and my missus walked in front of the TV pushing the vacuum cleaner. Unsighted just enough to hit the end of the pit wall and an eventual time of 9:41. Bloody pedestrians.

No real harm anyway as I don't really like the track. Too sterile and dull.

I was going to give it a try this morning, but I need to do something to keep my pedals (G27) in place. Very unsettling to have the pedals slowly sliding away from you across the floor, and then the top of the gas pedal gets stuck under part of the table.

I want to try this in my favorite new car, the Scirocco. My all time favorite, the 76 GTI might not be fast enough for this.

Got a 9:59.227 in the premium Esprit, think I did an oil change to take it nearer to the PP limit and my usual "free" upgrades of triple plate clutch and racing brakes. Had more to give but took it quite steady, fun to sweep and drift around some of the corners. That finish line is a long time coming though, think I was at 9:50 when I hit the final straight and thought I easily had it in the bag.

3 secs off gold with the stupid suzuki (I'm not a great driver by any means). Main reason I came here was because I decided to take my favorite car on it. The Maclaren MP4-12C is capable of getting down to 500pp barely. You need no weight reduction and some ballast and the power all the way down.

Interestingly, I managed a 10:17 on the first run, 2nd run I got disqualified at 8:22 when I rode a kerb a little too long and the dirt grabbed me, but I finished it and got a 9:53! You better drivers should give that thing a run if I can pull that off. I'm not a great driver so it might be a sleeper car in this.

I figured having 7 gears should be nice on those long straights while keeping tight gears on the small stuff. I basically used Praiano's tune with the gears the same except the final at 3700 which seems still a little too low. I understeered somewhat so tightening up that would help as well. I had it set up for Sports softs so adjusting for hards would cut more off. Use Praiano's tune's Ballast weight and it's about perfect to get the 500pp.

Can't wait to see a better driver do that and shove some Suzuki's off the list. That gearing makes a huge difference. My hands are killing me so I'll try it again tomorrow.

There are no tunes posted here for the Suzuki GSX-R/4 01, so for those who may wish to use it and don't have one this is the tune I'm using which was a very good one in a previous event. It is not my tune although I have changed it a little from the original.

Ugh...I slid off the track about seven and a half minutes in - bounced off a wall and got DQ'ed. I just completed the lap anyway, for a refresher.
Sounds like my first attempt just now. Got a 10:20.826 in my RUF RGT, but I spun on that really long, high-speed curve. D'oh. :banghead:

On the plus side, I had no driver aids on! (Except ABS.)

I haven't driven this track in maybe 2 weeks. My second lap I drove a lot more conservatively and still managed a 9m53s lap for Gold. Oh, I took out the rarely used Suzuki GSX-R/4. Ugh...right?
I don't even own that thing and I refuse to, so I'm gonna keep at it with my RUF. :) (Closest thing I can get to a 911!)

It's too bad you don't get the reward more than once on a time trial—I could see doing this a couple of times in a couple of cars. Hell, maybe I will anyway.

Of course, I say that, and I still need to a.) avoid crashing and b.) shave 20 seconds off my time. Seems perfectly doable, but I haven't actually done it yet. :)

If PD banned that car from entering, I bet there would be a really good, interesting mix of cars lighting up the leaderboards.
I assume by "that car" you mean that ugly, nonexistent Suzuki. :) If so, I agree—categorizing it as a "normal car" (while cars like the street legal Nissan GT-R NISMO aren't) is absurd. Concept cars should be in a class of their own: "fictional cars."

I did a 9:24 in my Toyota MR2 G-Limited. Driving Force GT, no driving aids except ABS. I pushed pretty hard, but I know I could shave several seconds off that lap if I went at it a few more times. I just really don't like doing the same challenge over and over again -- something I discovered about myself long ago during the license tests in GT4 . . .

When I saw the current online lap record for this TT, I did a bit of a double take. How is someone that much faster in another 500pp car? Can an MR2 even do a lap like that?

10.35 in the fully modded Sambabus, that's about all she got in my hands.

Don't know what to try next, any suggestions?

Or do I succumb to the evil of the GSX-R/4?

I am going to use the evil GSX-R/4 now, because that is the only car to use I think if you want to have a good lap time.

8C was a silver cruise, M3 '07 came close but finally the RUF RGT made gold. Tough to stay focussed on this track with the 10 minutes, the distracting scenery, windmills and the wide cruising nature of the track. That halfway checkpoint at the far end just before the two uphill traverses is a good indicator, aim for sub - 5:00 mins.

Also managed silver with the RGT stock

If in doubt, choose the Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67 .. It is beautiful around here, I'm on a 9:23 and there is definitely more time to gain with a solid attack of the apexes. :D

I'm going to hold off from using the Suzuki for a few days at least, I hope.

I'll give it a go

It seems to be keeping up with the GSXR blue lines better than most cars.

The Lotus Elise is a good little car around here, did a 9:20 yesterday with the Elise '11 with my own tune and happened to split a few GSXRs for a top 130 ranking. Other cars that are a good bet for gold based on testing include the Ferrari Dino, the Opel Speedster, the Renault R5 Turbo, Nissan Silvia 240RS and even the Chrysler Prowler.

Went with the GSXR a bit later and thanks to @SW__10 for a great base tune from the Willow Springs TT a while back. Was able to post a 9:01 for a top 20 ranking in the evening.

Thought I'd try the P400 but crikey, $15,000,000 and I only have $8,000,000. I remember buying one in GT5 but back then I had heaps of cash and it was easy to accumulate.
OK, back to the GSX.

I did not realise it takes 10 minutes to get gold, so I am finish with this TT it is way to long. Going back to the online A-spec events.
