Oddly enough, talking to a guy from Team Dynamics a few weeks ago, he reckoned that Knockhill favoured FWD cars despite the hairpin. He thinks that the Hondas should go well there.

The dynamic between FWD and RWD seems to evolve come race day anyway. Especially in those early laps when the FWD cars are able to get their tyres up to temperature quicker than RWD's. Croft is another example where that dynamic seems to be changing, as that has historically been seen as a RWD track. In any case, we should be in for some action tomorrow 👍

BTCC final round spoilers.

Well after one of the best final rounds I can remember, Tom Ingram is crowned champion for the first time, throughly deserved, always been a great racer smd enjoyed watching him, so happy he has finally got his title. I feel for Sutton, the Focus isn't a championship contender and he's dragged it kicking and screaming into contention and for that he deserves a lot of credit. Jake Hill is just too rough around the edges sometimes to have taken the title today, particularly in race 1 and 3 he just seemed to be more intent on pushing and nudging Sutton rather than actually passing him. Turkington was always the outsider today and while he gave it a good go and looked aggressive he just didn't quite have it today.

Well done Excelr8 and Tingram.

Well done to Tom Ingram for a well deserved championship. Hats off to ToCA for creating and maintaining a series that frequently has a down-to-the-wire final race of the year title decider and often between more than two drivers. Brands GP circuit is an ideal venue for it too. 👍

Makes up for 2018 at long last. Tingram would have been that year's Champion had it not been for a failed ride height test at Knockhill.

Hopefully, a bigger field next year, than the 19 cars this year.

Just confirmed on the TCR broadcast, TCR WORLD Tour 2023 to include Bathurst on the nine circuit tour. With two visits to the circuit.

Marchello Lotti said Audi, Lynk & Co, Honda and Hyundai will bring four cars each. That’s in addition to the TCR Australia cars. So, potential 40 cars on the grid.

2023 BTCC rules changes
  • Top 10 Shootout for qualifying extended to 5 races - Donington National, Brands Indy, Oulton Park, Knockhill and Silverstone
  • Option tires are back (again)
  • Hybrid deployment altered - P1 to P7 in championship and/or Races 2 and 3 get reduced deployment time on a sliding scale and minimum speed for deployment is increased. P8 downwards can use hybrid from a reduced minimum speed but only for half of the racing laps. Hybrid will also be available from the first lap after an FCY and time between deployments has been increased to 5 seconds.

Good changes. I think the hybrid regs needed something like the option tyre to come back and be a differential to try and avoid some of the slightly more processional races. Reducing the minimum speed as well is a good move.

That was a good race. Congratulations to D’Alberto and Honda. Big change from when the series debuted. Bathurst always delivers. Next year will only get better.

Some pretty big, and ultimately surprising news, but Ciceley Motorsport have announced they'll be leaving the BTCC to focus on Historic racing. Shock to see a well liked and established, race winning name leave the BTCC grid.

Adam Morgan has hinted that he wants to be part of the grid still, going forward. Would also mean his teammate George Gamble will be looking for a drive elsewhere.

Sad to see, they got stronger with the BMW as the season went on. Hopefully Morgan does stay around and finds a decent drive.
