Forza Horizon 5: General Discussion

Some articles from the build in period but nothing concrete on the WTAC incident with the blown turbo. Sierra Sierra basically folded a few years after and most of the staff went to Lyfe Motorsport, which specialises in R35 GT-R tuning, so the Evo was put on the backburner/forgot about. I'm surprised it actually still exists.

nvm the article answered my question.

That's really cool that this is also the Champ Car Atlantic team as well.

Yeah this is kinda disappointing, but at least the most interesting cars were made the free ones, plus it looks we only have to do 20 points per week again and not 40?

The "this is disappointing and I probably won't use them but I will still throw money at them anyways" stuff is why we get things like this though... So I guess we can expect more in the future.

Another is that they really butchered the Porsche 911 GT3 R by giving it a near-blank livery instead of the Park Place Motorsports livery that it had.
In my opinion, that is much better and I would prefer it if they did that for all of the race cars. Let the community replicate the paints, and simplifies the name of them for searching in Auction House or setting up car restrictions in FM8.

Also, it would (hopefully) eliminate the problem of obnoxious text on the window banners that you can't remove, like on the Oreca in FM8. Even if you paint the car so it makes a clean window banner, while in cockpit view you still see the JOTA Sport and etc text as if it's still there. Some of the touring cars also have numbers stuck to the windshield that you will always see in cockpit view even if they are removed from the livery.

While im not the biggest fan of having race cars in FH, I think with the addition of more eventlab tarmac props and all the other available tools and items in there it allows us to create our very own race tracks. That in itself is one of the best things about Horizon 5. Even a few days ago after barely touching eventlab island since they added it to the game, I actually found myself creating a 4 mile long race track and its fun. Its not the prettiest because I have to still play around with a few things and it requires hella patience but its functional. So making your own race tracks to use these race cars is a great idea. I wish FM would offer something similar for freeplay.

The fact that they have decided to add proper road props to Eventlab and ~10 GT3/GTE cars to FH5 rather implies that there will never be a track creator in FM, doesn't it?

Yeah; honestly, for us, this is a massive EventLab update disguised as a big car update. While it's technically really both, the truth is that the Playlist this coming month is placing more emphasis on EventLab content, while the cars themselves are mostly new to Horizon and not necessarily new to Forza.

Which, I suppose that's fair enough, the last four or five updates for the most part have been smaller, but car-focused, with maybe the exception of Lunar New Year. We were definitely overdue for huge updates, it's just that we got the big EventLab update first.

What's a "Chervolet"???

I think I might be checking out Editor's Choice EventLabs more often now they've made it easier to navigate.

hey, the DLC pack price on Steam is currently too cheap. They are selling it for €4.99 like the previous ones...
For those on Steam, get it now if you want it, before the price gets corrected...

Xbox app PC download is 11.1GB, waiting for download before I can buy the pack since it's not showing up in the Xbox app.

It's also $4.99 on Xbox Series X.

Took advantage of that right away. Here's hoping they don't revoke the licenses of those who bought it at this price.

Maybe the new price is only for FM Car Pass owners to reflect the fact that there's only three new cars in it...

I need to get to work on finishing the Playlist. Because I worked all this past weekend, I didn't have time to play, so I'm still at just 20 points out of 73. Only a couple more days to go, too.

I don't think so because I don't own Forza on Steam but it was €4.99 there too.

Sadly like TGR55 the DLC isn't showing up on my Xbox app for PC, and I'm on a slow wifi right now, so I'm having to wait until the patch has downloaded before I can see about buying it in game. Shame my Xbox isn't set up right now :(

edit: Of course, it could be that T10 saw a big backlash after announcing the €9.99 price yesterday and decided to drop the price?

I cant believe im saying this but the GT cars in this new car pack are done better here than in FM and I'll explain. The biggest one is the sound accuracy which was a given based on how bad or inaccurate cars sound in FM and how most sound great in FH. They nailed each cars sound with the exception of the Porsche it sounds a little off but still not bad. Then the interiors seem modeled better here then in FM too. Now im sure they drive a little more realistic in FM since the physics are different but I honestly have no complaints with these cars and I'd even say the $4 is worth the cars being accurate alone. Now time to create me a proper GT track in eventlab 😎

I doubt it. I'm betting this was a genuine miscommunication on Turn 10/Playground's part; $4.99 is the price of one of the usual four-car car packs. The team in charge of pushing these things to Steam or the Xbox app must not have known what exactly was in this pack or how much it was supposed to cost until literally yesterday, pretty much the last minute, and may not have had time to tell Steam or the Xbox store team "hey, we have to increase the price on this car pack."

Doesn't excuse Turn 10 or Microsoft, but considering how out-of-left-field this update feels it's certainly a plausible scenario.

I downloaded the update and got the dlc in-game for €4,99 on my series X
And the cars are in the extreme track toys division. All are either 890 or 910
GT3 890 and GTE 910?

Edit: I was thinking, given how PG is doing a good job with sounds, the next car I want to see in game is this beauty:

Yes, I am imagining how a W16 with 6 exhaust pipes sounds….

I'm really suprised how much the new race cars can be upgraded. Multiple motor swaps, etc. - the fully upgraded Porsche is an absolute beast, handles even better than the Sesto

heads up, the pack just appeared on the Xbox PC app:

P.S. We already have the Lamborghini Super Trofeo at S2-906 and the Ferrari 488 Challenge at S2-911. I find myself driving those two at almost identical speeds in practice (0.1s difference lapping Horizon Circuit Mexico earlier). The new 890/910 PI is just as expected, and should be excellent.

The dlc currently doesn't appear anywhere for me on Xbox app, MS Store or even by searching it on google
