This reminds me of my super insane jump distance of 1,886m. I believe it was rejected due to being a super jump - i.e. a huge record only possible by triggering a glitch. I suspect that Spuds725's record was rejected for a similar reason, but that said I find all the insane jump heights to be a little suspicious seing as the best I have managed is a massive 33m or 100 feet.
 
My height was glitched-- If I remember correctly it occurs on the Chilliad Bike races-- what happens is if you fly off the track and bounce off something down below, it resets your jump stats to that height as a take off, then when the game teleports you back up to the track for driving off, it counts you showing back up on the track as a landing-- and therefore is a glitched jump height.

I don't recall if the current height record person shared the how of it-- I know mine was glitched.

The distance glitch occurs in the big dump truck-- IMO it is is caused by the game reading CJ's height off the ground rather then the vehicle's height... so in the dump truck CJ is in the "air" most of the time... but will encounter some ground collision data close enough to him to count it as a take off, then when he encounters more close enough, it counts it as a landing....

Unless yours was one of the teleport super jumps around and it gave you some big stats...
 
Holy crap! I just got 2:32 on Vinewood and spent about 10 seconds trying to upright my car after going under the bridge on the downhill! My car racing may finally be coming around! :) Thanks GTA_Phreak! :)

Yep, if I recall correctly it was a teleport from Flint County back into Los Santos somewhere on a motorcycle of some sort. It was ages ago though so my memory could be faulty.

Anyway, taking a break from Formula GT at Nurburgring in GT4 I had another go at Vigilante and more than doubled my highest level reached. I then ran around for about a week doing various other vehicle side missions. Time for an update;

I almost got 2:09. That would've been a lot better. :) Only one second away from GTA_Phreak :cheers:, and in the single digits. :) But it's still acceptable for now. ;)

Other note: I've been able to get 4:34 in Barnstorming consistently, (and 1:47 in WW Aces,) but that last half-second hasn't been showing up in my runs. :( I find it hard to believe that in a 4-and-a-half-minute race, there isn't another half-second to be found. :/ So I'll keep looking. :)

Man, I went over the first part of that for a half-hour, trying to get a good time. Finally I got a good start, & said, "There's no way I'm missing any coronas." I stuck with it, & lo and behold, 4:33! I almost got 4:32, too, I think, but I screwed up the last 2 coronas (before the last one,) and took a line that was way off what I needed. But I got the 4:33!

I'll have to borrow someone's digital camera to get a screenshot, because my computer's hard drive has crashed and I can't use it for capturing right now. :(

Those helicopters handle like crap. It's taken me this long to figure out exactly how to steer them best. And I think I'm starting to get it. I'm really starting to appreciate how great GTA_Phreak's 2:08 and 2:00 in Whirly Bird Waypoint are. :)

I had 2:03 when I touched the marker, and the number never visually changed from 2:03, but it gave me 2:04. :/ That's how close it was. :(

I won't put up a screenshot just yet, because this will probably be improved. :) I'm actually staying with and sometimes a little bit faster than GTA_Phreak's run (except for ~2 places.) Thanks GTA_Phreak for the awesome video and all the help. :) Maybe someday we'll get the 1:59. :)

How do you want the proof for that? It's on 2 screens, so a screen shot wouldn't really suffice. I can probably get a video of it.
 
If you look at how I do my screenshots - with the criminal ranking showing at the top, that would give us something to compare your two screens by. It wouldn't be definitive proof, but as I know a couple of ways to achieve what you have done I don't think the video is necessary. Of course it is up to Blake in the end, but I don't think he's been around the GTA subforums in a while.

I just got back into this game after completing it 100% WITH cheats, and now I'm about 95% the way through WITHOUT cheats.

The three best areas of records so far are:

Enemy Gang Members wasted: 2,624

Recruited Gang Members wasted: 35

Number of Headshots: 2,220


What I want to know, however, is the amount of users here who use cheats to attain these records. I am particuarly shocked by GrandpaLonghair's records; they are unbelieveable to say it simply. Does he use cheats too?
 
Well, I'm finally working on Dam Rider again. :)

I was finally able to get 1:49 again, with 2 pretty 'major' (~1 second) mistakes on 2 of the hairpin turns. So there's a pretty good chance I could get 1:47 (GTAPhreak's) or 1:46 (Morgoth's) without those mistakes. :)

I think I'm starting to figure out that it's faster to not always go full speed the whole time. :) But to take a better line. :) So it's actually *easier* to drive like that, plus you get the better time too. :) (This is something that I was starting to figure out when I got the 1:31 in Dirtbike Danger.)

Also, I'm starting to find a faster line through the traffic part (by the bridge,) so once that gets perfected, that should substract another second from my time. :)

So anyways, I think I can get the 1:47 or 1:46 for the ps2 version. :P

I found a new key technique that allows me to save time even if I have a "bad" run. So as I learn to apply that to the different areas, I should be able to get down to 1:46. :)

Although I'm confident the 1:46 is easier to get with the PC keyboard, because of how easy it is to lean forward (ie. just tapping a button,) whereas it takes a half-second or so to find that perfect position with a controller.

The sad part is, there's about 1 to 1.5 seconds wasted on that traffic part by the water. :( Eventually to get the 1:45 or maybe even a 1:44, you will just have to gun it straight through there and hopefully there won't be any cars. :(

But I found a new, cool technique in many parts of the races that's actually quite counter-intuitive. :) But it works. :D
 
I finally achieved 100% game completion tonight at roughly 8.00pm. It was indeed a glorious moment...

There's a known glitch from the mission where you have to drive from the Quarry to the airfield that results in 1800m+ insane jump distances being reported.
