Midnight85's liveries

Endless Advan GT-R GT500 '08.

Based on the Endless Advan R33 GT-R from the 1998 JGTC, updated to 2008 GT500 spec. It was really tricky finding most of the sponsors of the original, so I used updated logos where I could and substituted sponsors for more relevant/realistic sponsors where I could.

Honda Senna VGT.

For this one I took inspiration from a JP Caetano Moreira concept (@jpcaetanomoreira on Instagram) where he developed a McLaren tribute to Ayrton Senna, using the old livery to present a simplified form and aesthetic. We don't really have the luxury of creating our own body shapes, so I opted for the Honda VGT which wasn't a million miles from his concept, and works well as it was McLaren/Honda at the time. And here's the result!

TRD Toyo Tires Toyota FT-1 Gr.3

I found an awesome concept for a Supra hill climb car with mad aero and a TRD livery by AR Visual and decided to recreate it on the FT-1 Gr.3. The front end is a satin carbon finish, and the decals are all glossy. The texture offset looks amazing in my humble opinion!

I made this one Sport Mode compatible for use in the daily races where the FT-1 is often very competitive.

Kicker Corvette Gr.4

A fantasy livery, where Kicker has a race team in GT4 level competitions racing a Corvette. I used the Kicker logo as the basis for the design, placing the yellow chevron from the logo under where the race number sits to split the livery in two. The front end is all glossy, with yellow and white details, fades and gradients. The rear end is a matte base with "Kicker" text pattern to create a subtle bit of contrast.

This was a bit of a new approach for me, and I think the end result works well and stands out with the bright contrasting colours. Also, sport mode compatible!

The FedEx STI WRX Gr.3

An original livery using FedEx and STI as the two main sponsors, with a Super GT feel and GT300 number boards with the nostalgic "555" number.

Features a pink/red/orange colourshift carbon STI logo as the base element for the layout, with contrasting dark grey main body panels and white elements, and pops of yellow in certain decals for that extra bit of colour.

Morrisons Mazda Atenza Gr.4

An original livery with BTCC vibes, using Morrisons as the title sponsor and a load sponsors beginning with the letter "M" (don't know why, just felt like a good idea at the time!).

Sport mode compatible and ready to take on Fuji next time the dailies roll round to Gr.4 there!

Lynx Lamborghini Huracan Gr.4

An original livery based on the idea of a Lynx-sponsored Super Trofeo entry in GT4 class.

I had a lot of fun making this one, researching the brands of air intakes, exhausts, suspension, brakes, and oil types used for the Huracan, and even opted for the race number 38 to signify the 38 years Lynx has been around as a brand! FYI, you might know the brand better as Axe...

Autohaus UWE Citroen GT Gr.4

This one was an experiment with the fictional brands built in to the livery editor, to see if I could make something fictional on a fictional car. The layout is fairly basic, but utilizes only the fictional brands and a couple of shapes. I used standard numbers from the editor to complete the livery. The colour is R1 Dark Candy Metallic (from the Mileage Exchange), and she's Sport Mode compatible for added goodness.

The team is formed by Autohaus Uwe, a German consortium of car sales and service dealerships, backed up by 246 Press (who manage all the digital media processing), Burn Motor Fuel (fuel and additives, oils and lubricants), Understeer Engineering (providing custom manufactured titanium and carbon parts) and Mistral Motorsports (sourcing most of the suspension and braking components). Additional sponsorship comes from Absolum Racing Technology (ECU, on-board electronics, sensors and instrumentation), Blue+ Channel (TV media partnet), Harman Logistics (logistics partner sorting all the shipping and travel of the team, equipment and cars), Steakhaus Appel (crew meals), and Zero Racing Apparel (race suits, helmets, and team merch). It was nice to research/imagine the brands as they could be in reality and apply them to a livery using both a colour theme and thinking out their purpose within the team.

Uniroyal Aston Martin V8 Vantage Gr.4

A fictional livery based off the logo of Uniroyal Tyres, with a BTCC/IGT4 vibe. I chose Uniroyal as it's known as "The Rain Tyre" and it's raining all the time at the moment - better to be safe out there - and the logo is bold and dramatic when used right. From here I applied the logo as the main driver for colour placement and added some geometric forms around the car, with stripe fall-offs placed strategically, and chose a bunch of appropriate sponsors for a British team competing either in BTCC or the Intercontinental GT4 series - HR Owen, Moorgate Motorsport Finance, Prodrive, Carwow, GTechniq.

Alpine Center Grenoble A110 '17 Promo Car.

A replica of the promo car used by Centre Alpine Grenoble to promote the release of the A110. A simple but effective livery that still took me a while to complete, trying to track down images to get details on all the different small details around the car and making custom decals for the ones I couldn't find online anywhere. I love the simple contrast of the diagonal red/white/blue on this car. Thanks to @Seebsma for help making the licence plates!

Works best on the blue base paint colour the A110 comes in (I haven't tried it on the other colours, but I don't think it'll work well on the white one!).

I've also made a livery based on this for the VGT '17 (Gr.1) - see the next post.

Alpine Center Grenoble VGT '17 Le Mans Hypercar

Inspired by the simplicity of the A110 Promo Car (previous post), I created this as an idea for an entry into the Le Mans Hypercar category for a team run by Centre Alpine Grenoble, using the basics of their promo car as the livery. It also draws on multiple concepts for an Alpine hypercar for Le Mans.

Sport mode safe and eager to get some track time at Circuit de la Sarthe!

Grunge DHL WRX Gr.3

Inspired by a concept by edcgrphcs for a grunge-style DHL BMW drift car, I present this grungy beast. Starting with the overall concept, I adjusted the layout to work with the boxy shape of the WRX, and replaced all the sponsor decals with more JDM/WRX-appropriate brands.

This took absolutely ages to get right, but in the end I'm happy with this messy design.

Gillette Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.3

Based on a livery by 811 Design for a 24h Challenge 911 RSR, applied to the curvaceous body of the Alfa 4C. I absolutely love the simplicity of this design and the colour suits the body so well. It's not the best Sport Mode match, but it looks fantastic on the track nonetheless. I've been inspired by this one to do a bunch of other cars in the same style - watch this space!

Gulf Aston Martin DBR9 GT1

Back on the colour-gradient style of 811 Designs, this time using those iconic Gulf colours on the Aston Martin DBR9, with some Cognizant sponsor decals to tie in with their current F1 sponsorship deals. I kept all the logos monochrome except for the Gulf logos, but I was torn between having a full colour version or sticking with the monochromatic design style. It looked really good in full colour on the front and rear ends, but the logos below and in front of the doors were just plain text anyway, so they didn't tie in. The overall aesthetic in the end is pretty powerful and puts a clear emphasis on Gulf and Cognizant, but I'm still wondering if I should have made the sponsor decals full colour and changed some of the ones along the sides...

Ciceley Motorsports / Mac Tools BMW M6 GT3 (Walkenhorst).

This time, a request from a Facebook livery group member who wanted a recreation of the Ciceley Motorsports A45 AMG, sponsored by Mac Tools, driven by Adam Morgan in the 2019 BTCC. His choice of car was the BMW M6 Walkenhorst, so I had to modify and tweak the layout, mainly around the front and the bonnet, to suit the very different body shape.

It's not sport mode compatible, per se, but it doesn't look terrible.
