I can cover for Replay Uploading or be backup Replay Uploading if someone else already has taken over as Replay Uploader.

Attention D2.
Let’s try to optimize our connections. Everyone restart their PlayStation AND modem/router/gateway.
Please also clear your temporary files. You can find the setting in the options by clicking in the very upper left of the world screen.
Please do this before entering the lobby.

Thank you to all the volunteer and drivers that make D2 great.

I was so peeved though, there were races that I started with it on 3. Then I’m scrambling to get it turned off before the green lights start the race.

I hear you on that! I keep my MFD on the zoomed in 'radar' so have to scroll over to the TC display, set it to zero and then scroll back to the radar before the lights go out. May have something to do with why many of my race starts are not that stellar.

Shout out to @Skills @CANOWORMS1 @CdnSweetTee @TexHill and @JamCar0ne for keeping with the SNAIL spirit and running without traction control.
My understanding is that in GT7 traction control will make you slower overall. Although, GT7 doesn't accurately emulate traction control and how it works. ACC does a much better job of depicting traction control. I was watching the Bathurst 12 hour on Youtube recently, and they were talking about how the drivers were actively making changes to the traction control throughout the race, turn by turn.

I could not out drive you. Well done. Each lap I thought here we go, I’m gonna get him this time.

Thank you, sir. You too!!! That was the best racing I've been a part of since I joined up. I was thinking, "Oh crap, he's going to get me here."

How did you like the paint job? :D

It would be nice if it would be possible to ban TCS in Snail again. But, then again all those in front of me with TCS on will get even faster. 😁 I wonder how much (if any) of an advantage TCS has on tracks like the High Speed ring when powering out of fast corners.

It would be nice if PD would fix a glitch that's been in the game since day 1.

Data Specialist's Report for Mar 12/23: (Worm's Words?)

Now that GT7 has a 'Results' screen data entry is much easier, compared to going through every replay and entering finish times for each driver, and then doing the math to calculate finish gaps. Having said that I did watch a couple of replays.

Believe it or not, we were best at the combo that we disliked the most. Combo #1. I did a FL comparison of the three combos where I eliminated the fastest and slowest FLs from the equation and then calculated the spread in times. In combo 1 that spread was a mere 1.5 seconds meaning there were 8 cars on track that had the potential for nose to tail racing. Yet, we voted 2:1 to get rid of it. Combo 2 was the only other combo to receive a vote.

FL spreads for the other two were: Combo 2: 4.3 seconds. Combo 3: 3 seconds. In each of these there was a distinct gap between 'fast' group and 'slow' group. For combo 2 that gap was about 3 seconds per lap and for combo 3 it was about 2 seconds. However, being far off FL for a race means there is room for big gains, but gains are made in small steps; there are no magic bullets. The big winners in Lap Time Improvement Competition go to: @cesarr64 and Canoworms. Who, in Round 2, had FL improvements of 2.5 and 3.6 seconds, respectively. For Cesar that was good enough for a podium finish, well done.

While I didn't do an extensive viewing of replays I did note a couple of issues; namely track re-entry and exceeding of track boundaries. It is important to remember that if you go seriously off track it is your responsibility, no, your duty to re-enter in such a manner so as not to interfere in any way with another driver. I know that's hard in the heat of the moment when we are desperate to minimize any time lost, but it's also a shame to put another driver into our situation with a collision upon re-entering. Poor visibility of the track certainly doesn't help. And I know I've misjudged the amount of room I have to get back on the track.

A different off track excursion is the exceeding of track boundaries resulting in an advantage, or getting back on track and interfering with other car(s) when you have no rights. For me that was turn 1 at Watkins Glen all night long. I was parked on the outside apron at the start of both races.:confused: And when you are in 1st place that's a guaranteed 1st - 10th move as the entire field is on your bumper.

And don't get me started on turn 5 at the High Speed Ring. I was going to get all high and mighty about all the drivers that either swing off track on entry or run wide on exit. Track limits can be exceeded in both scenarios without contacting the wall. I know, because I did, hence no righteous rant from me. Watching replays of combo 2 I saw that often I swung wide, and off track on entry to T5, take a good high line and make a good exit. I didn't see me exceed track limits on exit. I had no idea I was doing that on entry. Sorry @JamCar0ne for that mistake repeatedly when you were right up my butt. I thought I was being clean that whole corner. It's quite instructional to view your own driving in a replay. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it.

At a major sailing regatta I competed in, amateur sailors such as myself were referred to as "Happys", just "Happy" to be there. Well, I can definitely say I'm just "Happy" to be back in D2. Saw old friends and met new ones on Sunday, and had a blast. I hope this post didn't offend. All meant with lots of 🙂🙃😇😃😆

IIRC, JLBowler warned us last week about this exact issue/turn on the high speed ring. We obviously didn't listen. :D

Welcome to SNAIL Division 2 @MatteBlac.

Thank you for the welcome @Skills

Small question before the races tonight, I was looking through the rule book but couldn’t find anything on it. I don’t have the Ford GT, going to do some grinding before the races to try and secure it before this evening. However, if I’m unable to secure it before race start should I attend the first two races or sit out this weekend?

You can sit that combo out. Although I feel it could be a good time. Do get grinding. I can’t wait to mess up the first left at DRC coming in hot from the speedway.
