Spring football has a new league! Meet the United Football League. The UFL is a merger of the reborn USFL and the reborn XFL. This was an announcement made by Dany Garcia and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The merged league debuts on March 30, 2024. Training camp happens on February 24. Most teams from the former USFL and the former XFL will be part of this new league. Your teams:

USFL Conference:
  • Birmingham Stallions
  • Houston Roughnecks
  • Memphis Showboats
  • Michigan Panthers

XFL Conference:
  • Arlington Renegades
  • DC Defenders
  • San Antonio Brahmas
  • St. Louis Battlehawks

If you recall, Houston (my hometown) had a team in the USFL and the XFL. We had the Gamblers of the USFL and the Roughnecks of the XFL. We retained the XFL team but put the team into the USFL conference.

Well... get ready for a new breed of Spring football!

Dang. The Seattle Sea Dragons didn't make the cut. In fact there are no west coast teams at all.

Heads up! The USFL is here!

Birmingham at Arlington just wrapped up, as the Birmingham Stallions won 27-14. St. Louis Battlehawks at Michigan Panthers is on right now.

This dude is going to be in the NFL

He hasn't kicked a FG since high school, and drills one that's 2 yards short of the NFL record. If he has consistency, the Lions need not to let him leave Detroit.

The Houston Roughnecks start their 2024 UFL campaign on the losing end. The Memphis Showboats won 18-12 in Houston. A late touchdown by HOU gave them hope. However, it wasn't enough to get Houston the "W" in this one.

The Birmingham Stallions have been balling all season long. They improved to 8-0 on the season and are the only undefeated team. Birmingham Stallions, the Michigan Panthers, the St. Louis Battlehawks, and the San Antonio Brahmas are all Playoff teams.

Spring football has been sad for my Houston team. We were undefeated for the most part in the XFL in 2020 before COVID-19/Coronavirus raged. We had only one or two losses in 2022 or 2023 in the XFL. Now in the 2024 season of the UFL, we're trash. Our record is 1-7, four straight losses. Only good news for us is that Memphis has a longer losing streak- seven straight losses. We, along with the defending Champion Arlington Renegades and the Memphis Showboats are all 1-7. The DC Defenders are 3-5. DC, Houston, Memphis, and Arlington have all been eliminated from postseason contention.

There's your 2024 UFL report.
