Midnight85's liveries

Replica of Lake Underwood Sr's 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster which he raced 1963-1965, and kept in the Underwood family ever since. The in-game model isn't quite right, but the colour and decals are as close as I could get.

Repsol Honda Racing enters the Fanatec World GT Series with a pair of NSX GT's, driven by it's two 2021 MotoGP drivers: #93 Marc Marquez and #44 Pol Espargaro!

A fantasy livery based on the classic Repsol Honda colours with some creative license to redesign the livery and including the 2021 team sponsors. Both driver's custom race number designs are on the back of the car at the bottom left.

Envisaged as a sister campaign to the Renault F1 team, this is the DP World Renault R.S.01 GT3, ready for battle in any of the world's GT3 tournaments. Wearing Alonso's race number, and adorned in a blingy yellow-chrome inspired by a Mark Antar Design concept, with Renault's 2020 F1 sponsors emblazoned across the car, this feisty little car is ready to take on the competition.

I found a heavily modified Yaris on Instagram and liked what they had done, so tried to emulate the overall style here. It's a very basic livery, but captures the old TRD colours and gives a club race feel while also giving strong street appeal and a nod to the the '90s car scene.

Not really sport mode friendly, but looks pretty sweet in lobby races and scapes, etc. There's no paint chip setting so it uses the colour already set to your garage car.

Both of the K-Pax Racing Huracan GT3's from their 2021 Fanatec GT World Series season.

Getting the carbon base layer on the #3 car fell into the "too hard" basket, so it's slightly off-black. The black hexagon pattern shows only in the right light, which is true for the real version as well anyway, so I'm happy with the end result!

These replicas are both Sport and FIA mode compatible, so go for gold and don't worry about the livery looking odd in replays!

A replica of the 2021 Madpanda Motorsports Mercedes AMG GT3 currently competing in the Fanatec GT World Challenge series. This livery lives up to the team name!

Semi-gloss finish, and a fully asymmetric layout (no two pandas are the same!), this one took absolutely ages and nearly maxed out the decal count on the body!

Another Mercedes AMG GT3 race replica, this time from the realms of DTM. This is the 2021 Remus AMG GT3 as driven by Lucas Auer. I had to improvise on a few areas where the 2021 car is fairly different to the 2015 car (around the front grille, rear bumper, bonnet vents, etc) and I've used Iridium Silver instead of a flat white base just to add a little something to the base colour. It's not really sport mode perfect, but it's true to the original.

A while back I did a BRE-style Gr.4 GTR, and I thought it might suit a rally car nicely, so decided to translate the old blue #68 car livery onto the Gr.B, and here's the result. The Nismo GTR Gr.B Rally Car.

I've included a bunch of the main WRC 2021 sponsors and got the GTRC decals in place, to give a more authentic rally feel. Retro rally vibes with a modern twist.

Based on a concept for a 488 GT3 by 811Design, this is the Scuderia Sportivo 458 GT3.

Taking the original design, I redesigned it around the body shape of the 458, rethinking the bonnet design, the rear end, and the front splitter. I also thought it would work well in the Fanatec GT World Challenge, so I gave it some Pro-Am numberboards and added a couple of the series sponsors.

The riesen.group AMG GT3, currently being prepped for the 2021 GT Open series. Similar to the Remus Mercedes AMG GT3 I previously made, also by Bezerk Design.

This one was a bit more of a challenge for me, having to do a load of research into the decals, and create some from scratch with a couple of the companies being very new and not sharing any usable PNG files online. Thanks, as always, to the guys who helped me identify, source, and create these decals. You know who you are!

The DS Techeetah GT Gr.3

A while back I came across a concept by Taylan Gerem for a Formula 1 car inspired by the DS Automobiles Techeetah Formula E team, and thought it would look damn good on the Citroen GT. So I took the GT by Citroen Gr.3 and adapted the livery to suit the complex body work of the GT. This is definitely a car that I wouldn't have normally looked at before, but I'm loving the way the livery has come together. For an added French touch, I've given it Esteban Ocon's driver number.

BREAKING (retrospective, fictional) NEWS!

Red Bull teams up with Honda for the 2008 JGTC and enters two NSX's into the GT500 class.

With chrome/colourshift main decals, and powder-finish panels, these liveries stand out as simple and brutal, in a field of glossy and over-sponsored race cars.

Makita Motorsports VW Team

Comprised of three cars all wearing the same team colours, here's the Makita Motorsports VW Team cars. These all started when I came across a livery concept by 8Eleven Design I instantly fell in love with and thought would look great on the Scirocco Gr.4. From there, I decided to try it on the Beetle, and thought the GTI VGT would also be a good addition to the team.

Makita Motorsports Scirocco Gr.4.

Closely following the concept livery by 8Eleven Design for a Golf R on air-ride suspension, this is the closest match (aside from the Gr.X VGT) in GTS. These colours really pop and stand out from the crowd - the combination of Makita green and the vivid red with bright white decals is truly eye-catching! I've added the Revo, XGT and VW Motorsport decals for additional detail, and interpreted my own layout for the front/rear of the car - the original concept is only shown from the side of the car...

Not entirely Sport Mode friendly, but doesn't look too bad - race numbers have been placed under the sport mode race numbers anyway.

Makita Motorsports Beetle Gr.3

Adding to the Makita Motorsports VW Team, here is the Makita Beetle Gr.3. Following the same livery fundamentals as the Scirocco Gr.4, adjusted to suit the unique shape of the Beetle. To honor the original design concept by 8Eleven Design, it wears the number 811. I pushed the design a bit further with this one, adding a massive M/Makita decal on the roof and Makita on the rear wing with VW Motorsports on the underside and the full Sonic Equipment decal on the tailgate.

Again, not 100% Sport Mode compatible, but it doesn't look terrible - the title sponsor just gets a bit hidden on the sides...

Makita Motorsports GTI VGT Gr.3

The final member of the Makita Motorsports VW Team, biased towards the red of the team livery due to its body shape, but still bringing all the fundamentals of the core team livery, this is the Makita GTI VGT Gr.3. This time it runs my race number (#85) and the red is heavily featured across the top of the car, giving it more of a two-tone appearance than the rest of the team.

Falken Tire WRX Drift Car (WRX Gr.B Road Car)

Entered into the GTP LEC #73 - Mileage Exchange. The challenge here was to use the available cars, paints and wheels in one of the weeks while the competition was running, so and I decided to use the WRX Gr.B Road Car, BBS RI-A wheels, and B1 Matte Fluorescent to form the base of my recreation of Dai Yoshihara's BRZ drift car, with some adaptations to the WRX's body shape and some simplification of the main background of the livery design.

1988's Le Mans is considered to be one of the most historic of them all. The two Mercedes C9's (the two famous AEG-liveried ones that were a direct follow on from my test car livery above) pulled out after a tyre failure on one of the cars during practice, leaving it to be a shoot-out between the Porsche 962 C and the Jaguar XJR9-LM - the latter proving to have more pace in race trim than the Porsches which were able to up the boost for qualifying and lock out the first 3 places. Behind the three works Porsches and the first of the four Jaguars, was the Blaupunkt Team Joest Porsche 962 C driven by "John Winter", Frank Jelinski, and Stanley Dickens, starting in 5th on the grid.

The #2 Jaguar (starting in 6th) eventually took the win, but the #8 Blaupunkt car came across the line in 3rd place, behind the first of the works Porsche cars and followed by the second of the Silk Cut Jaguars.

Fun fact: "John Winter" was a pseudonym for German businessman Louis Krages who didn't want his family to know he was risking his life racing cars, but they found out the day after the race when his mother recognized his face on the front page of the newspaper standing on the third-place podium.

The car was recently available to purchase through Dutton Garage in Australia.

The team also ran a second car, #7, driven by David Hobbs, Didier Theys, and Franz Konrad. They had a poor qualifying lap over 11 seconds slower than the #8 car, and started in 20th on the grid. From here though, they had a fantastic and consistent race and eventually finished just behind the second of the Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9's in 5th position, five laps behind their team mates.

The Joest Racing Team were able to put a car on the podium again in 1989, their #9 car placing third and the #8 car finishing in 6th, although the driver line-up was completely changed. This was to be the last podium finish for the Joest Team at Le Mans, as their partnership with Porsche in the historic race soon came to an end with the demise of the 962 C and the rise of the Mercedes, Mazda, and Nissan over the next few years.
