It’s been a while since we heard about Dakar 18. After the original announcement (which coincided with the real-world event), developer Bigmoon Entertainment has been hard at work to nail a more specific release date for this year.
Now, it has one: Dakar 18 will touch down on all major platforms on September 11. To celebrate, the team has released the latest trailer, which highlights the five vehicles classes players will have to master. Take a gander below:
With car, truck, bike, quad, and SxS disciplines to tame, Dakar 18 promises a varied experience. It will also feature one of the biggest open worlds in gaming according to its developers. Players should find the 14 stages — which take in Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina — shot through with an additional level of realism too. That’s because, just like the real-life people crazy/brave enough to take on the Dakar, they’ll be using the road books from the teams themselves.
As the video showcases, weather will be part of the mix as well, just incase navigating huge swathes of desert sounded too easy. We foresee a lot of exploration…
Dakar 18 will ship with online play modes as well, plus that increasingly-rare option: split-screen multiplayer.
With a little over two months until release, stay tuned for more Dakar 18 news as September rolls closer.
