First GT Sport Tokyo Expressway Night Gameplay Footage

The outpouring of new GT Sport footage continues. The following video shows off the potential of the new livery editor, as well as gives us our first ever look at night driving at the notorious Tokyo Expressway circuit.

The new livery editor marks a major turning point for the series. We got a closer look at it last week, but this video shows it off even more. Instead of dealing with infernal paint chips, you’ll be able to choose from a list of predefined colours or customize your own flavor from scratch. It also appears players can spray individual body parts on the car, like the MX-5’s hood for instance.

The video also allowed us to further peek into the sticker library. Within the large base of samples, there seems to be plenty of items to satisfy almost everyone. Although we could only see how upscaling works, we expect to see more options available.

One handy aspect appears to be a simple mirroring option to transfer designs from one side of the car to the other. It seems to automatically correct the orientation of logos, too.

Two thirds of the way into the video, we get a (slow) tour of Tokyo Expressway at night. The track divided opinions like few others in the beta thanks to its layout and visuals. While the evening setting does little for the structure of the course, the track certainly is easier on the eyes this way. No longer a tunnel of gray, Tokyo gives off more than a little classic GT Special Stage vibes.

Gran Turismo Sport releases this October, but we’re sure more news will emerge as we head towards the autumn. Stay tuned to GTPlanet for the latest.
